How big is your local poolroom?

The poolroom in my town (the only one remaining) has 16 Gold Crowns. A mix of II's, and III's.
It also has a full bar, and kitchen. :smile:
 
As of this coming weekend, we has no more pool hall.

6 old nicely kept Brunswick snooker tables. 14 9 footers and approx 8, 8 footers and one 7' Diamond bar box.

Guess I will have to get used to bar boxes until someone decides to open a new hall.

The closest hall to us will be a Canadian franchise called Dooleys. 45 minute drive which really isn't all that bad for a Sat night out.

Not half bad tables and the kitchen is decent. if the kitchen is closed, they allow you to order in and thats very decent of them.

We are pretty fortunate here in the suburbs of NW Atlanta. Within about 10 miles, we have:

Mr Cues in Marietta with about 24 tables - 8 and 9 footers. Mostly Kim Steele's.
Marietta Billiard Club - over thirty 9 foot Olhausens and Brunswick GC's. A couple of Diamonds. Separate bar area with a few coin op bar boxes.
Kennesaw Billiards - Maybe a dozen(?) 9 foot GC's(?). Another 8 or 12 (?) bar boxes.

Then across town on the perimeter highway we have Cues 2 with 40 some odd tables - a mix of 8 and 9 footers. Maybe a billiard table and a snooker table; haven't been there in a while.

Eight 9' Diamond Pro-Am tables and six 7' Diamond bar boxes, all in extremely good condition. Plus, a kitchen, a full bar, and a dance floor that is separated from the pool room. Live music on the weekends is a nice extra. All this in a very small city of 18,000 in the poorest county in NY state. I don't know how the owner keeps the doors open, but I sure hope he keeps on doing what he's doing.

I believe the one I play leagues at has 20 GC-1's , 1 Diamond Pro-am (that you practically needa permit to use by yourself). 1 Diamond smart (7 ft.) 1 Brunswick Billiard table.

The 2 others are all Diamond Pro-Ams & Diamond Smart tables. One has 8 & 8 of them. The other has 9 & 4 ( I believe)

I like the GC's just as much as the Pro-ams. :smile::smile:
 
We lost all four of our pool halls over the last decade. I bought the GC3 money table from the last one we had.
A local bar just converted to a pool room/bar with 6, 7 foot Diamonds and a couple rebuilt and very well playing Valleys. Too bad I hate bar box pool. I can hardly wait to move to Tucson where real pool tables and pool rooms are alive and well.
 
Our poolroom has I believe 12 AMF tables, 3 gold crowns, and about 7 coin op tables.

Wish they were all gold crowns ;/
 
Felt in Englewood Colorado has 6 newly recovered Diamonds.5 Gold Crowns. 1 snooker table and I think 12 bar tables and one of them is a Diamond. Not really sure about the number of bar tables because I don't pay any attention to them.
A full service bar and a pretty good kitchen. several flat panel TVS.
It's a rather large room that's nicely decorated.And has ample parking for normal crowds.

The one i frequent has 16 oversized 8's and 2 9's and 2 7's. All Brunswick medalist/GC's. With a bar, but no kitchen. You can bring in your own ordered food.

Theres 3 more in town that isnt as busy. All about 15mile radius.

Nice room, Bruce.......except for one thing...
..the floor.
Felt needs a rug...a smooth floor makes you change your stance...
...it's like playing golf in the rain, you gotta widen your stance and limit
your choices.

I played in a ballroom tournament (late 80s)...the floor was polished marble.
I don't like soda but I bought a Coke...dripped some on the floor by
my chair and rubbed my shoes in it...only way I could make a decent stance.
the rest of the field got hep to the move...man, that floor became a mess...:eek:

16gc3 , 6 are shimmed up '' competition '' tables . 1 gc4 and 1 diamond 9' both trip shimmed .
14 valley cougar and dynamo b.b., of 8 are in the blacklight room.
Plus a few 9' brunswick medalists that were selling /phasing out for 3 more BBs.
We just completed some remodleing,all new carpet, paint, decorative touches and its just a beautiful room. i feel lucky to have it 5min from my home .....and work there:thumbup:

The hardwood floor is so old it has no finish left on it. That makes it non slippery and if you wear pool playing shoes which everyone should its not an issue.
 
Well, my pool room may not hit the back, but it will sure scrape the sides.

OK but seriously. The one I play at most regularly has (I think?) 20 tables. It's a good sized space.
Full bar, separate nonsmoking room with 2nd bar, darts, small stage for live acts.

The place with arguably the best equipment is pretty small, like 10/11 tables,
plus full bar on a raised viewing area, and small dart area. Tiny smoker's box about the size of a jail cell
that almost makes me feel sorry for them.
 
There are a few "local" rooms near my house. I use the term, local, loosely because of the actual distance is easily 20 minutes or more away.

I've never been to Buffalo's Billiards in Metairie, but I know it's all Diamonds.

6? I can't remember - Valley Tables

I haven't been to two sisters in a long time, the owner was rude and the "players" there were, for lack of better words, lacking in class.

You might already know the place, Pockets in Tucson is a nice room. I play at our local
rec center in Green Valley, 9' Olhausens and a 10' snooker table. Just a snowbird at this time.
