I like the fact that no teams are really dominating with the break. Nine ball racked on the spot (according to one poster) and the illegal break rule are ensuring that, even in a shot race, both teams are having their chances. Yes, the break and run is, at times, the most boring thing in pool. All these tactical exchanges and tug-of-wars, along with all the ebbs and flows work for me. Add that to short race and winner breaks, which ensure that the door is always open for a comeback, and what we have here is an electrifying event. Add to that the exceptional commentary of Jimmy Wych, and this really is a treat.
This is some of the most fascinating pool I've watched this year, and rest assured, I've watched plenty of pool in 2013.
