The document of our pool related road trip across the U.S. updated daily

Maybe but you can DVR it if you want :D Gene and Rhea are out there trying to make it on the road doing something by playing a game that most on here enjoy. I don't have an issue with them promoting lessons because they also let us in on their adventure. If you don't like it then don't read it. I have great faith that the mods here would pull the thread if it was out of line but Gene is giving back as far as entertainment as much as he is getting from promoting his lessons. His threads are well read if nothing else.

I agree with you. Gene and Rhea are giving far more than what they are taking from any of the forums.

This journey of theirs, is something that many of us have thought about for ourselves, our friends and have just wondered what it was like out there on the highway. Most of us don't have the nerve to face that dark highway and feel like we like the security and safety of that 9 to 5.

I mean name ONE other player who has given us such a great window to the life of being on the road. It's not all peaches and cream but I like living vicariously through their posts.

I do too, (the blue's mine...), and thanks for stepping up Rhea.
:D

Some people play perfectly well without any aiming system and that's great but some of us are mere mortals and need a little edge. :D

JoeyA

Joey, Haven't I asked you repeatedly, to stop referring to ME in your posts ? :p :p :p

PS..Good job Rhea and Gene !..But Joey, are you forgetting what I shared with you, regarding
"life on the road" ?

Spent a full day in Greensboro NC, did not get to see my sister, she works at Honda Jet and had to work last night. Finishing up here in Greensboro today, Gene has a lesson booked for 4 pm at Gate City Billiards, after hes finished with lessons tonight we will be moving on to Raleigh NC, there is a tournament tomorrow he will be playing in, hopefully he can get plenty of rest tonight, good thing is he doesn't have to be signed up to play until tomorrow at 7 pm but he definitely needs some practice, all this driving and little rest is catching up with him.

Hopefully I can find some cheap action here in Greensboro today, or in Raleigh tonight or tomorrow.

So, any more updates, Geno?

Rhea, what's your favorite game? As in 8B, 9B, 1P, etc. etc.?

What's the highest you've bet?

My favorite game is 9 ball. The most I ever bet per rack was $200.00, the most I ever bet per set was $1000.00, and the most I ever bet per head set was $3800.00.

Yesterday in Greensboro at Gate City Gene's lesson did not show up but we stayed just a little longer and eventually I was able to get some action, I played a guy named Ace a race to 7 for $20 won the 1st set and lost the 2nd then told him I wanted to quit unless he raised the bet to $50 a set. So he chose to try it and we went hill hill and I backed it and jacked it to $100 then won 7-5 and then he quit.

Id have had to try to win 5 sets at $20 a set if I didn't raise the bet. He said if i left the bet at $20 a set he'd have played me all night.

Then another guy Daniel came in and played me a race to 6 for $20 and I beat him 6-4 and he quit.

Then Gene tried to help out Ace by giving him a free mini lesson before we headed to Raleigh.

We got to Raleigh last night and there was no one there for me to play. Gene got in some cheap $100 races to 7 with a Kid from South Carolina that played better than AA speed. Gene lost 2 sets, 2nd set was hill hill but Gene did not want to back and jack it since he had to get enough rest to play in this tournament today.

We got a really nice motel this time so i'm positive he will get plenty of rest.

Rhea, I've got something up my sleeve for next Wednes @ 6:30 pm with ramifications so vastly impacting, the pool world will never be the same (I exaggerate a tad). Gate City Billiards is all in, as is Johnny. When sleepyhead wakes up, please tell him to return my call from a couple hours ago.

Best of rolls in Raleigh. You're going to meet a bunch of strong regional players that will test Johnny, but not Gene the machine. :D

My friend, Wayne aka "fat Albert" will surely be there (I sicced him on Gene last night, so you probably met him). Pick him for info on the Raleigh area pool scene, he'll steer ya'll right.

i'd like to see someone from the forum play rhea for $. someone video it or stream it!

I think it is pretty cool of you and Gene to be detailing the wins and losses that you both partake in. Keep it up, eventually the forum calculators will have your speeds clocked to within a breath. :D

Right now, we know Gene's speed is somewhere between the 4 & 6 ball under Bartram, but it would be gambling there.
My speed is probably the 4 out (and the break). Just sayin....

JoeyA

4 out and the break, Joey? Man, you should really ask for something you can win with....

BTW, 2 of Gate City's tables are on web cams if anyone wants to try and catch Rhea or Gene in action.

Go to www.gatecitybilliards.com and then in the left margin you'll see where to click.

Also Rhea - If you are going to Coliseum Billiards, don't go after sunset. It's REALLY rough there.

That's a really cool pool hall.

I think they should turn off the light to give it that relaxing atmosphere.

Rhea - who's your sister?
my previous man built Honda Jet's new site, and 5 friends work there, and i'm so close to it, that i could hit it from my roof top.
sorry we missed yáll when you were here!

He don't like to back it and jack it under any circumstances.

Her name is Margaret she is the youngest of all 5 girls.

Today was great, I bought 100% of Gene in the calcutta for only $90. What a steal! He won his first match 9-6. Plays his second match tomorrow at 3pm so its time for him to get some well deserved rest. We did have some waffle house after we left the pool room. Before his match I was trying to match up with some locals and to prove to them that I really just wanted to gamble I agreed to flip a coin for $100, Gene came over and was sweating it when it landed on tails he seemed rather relieved that I won the bet
