Here we are talking about how we want to help the game of pool and nobody and I mean NOBODY is reporting from the US Open?

Is anyone there that at least want to take pictures and share to us?

If I was close and within the vicinity, you bet I post something about the tournament and I'm not getting paid to do so.

This is the biggest tournament of the year and nothing on the front page of this message board. Like I said, the pool industry is dog eat dog like it is on the tables.
 
Can you pleas provide an example of a tournament report you have shared?

It is easy to sit there and complain that you aren't being served, hard to serve many for no reward.

And there are a lot of posts about the event. A thread Fodor each day' happenings, in fact.

Turn your cranky off. It is a great time we live in, where we can find out what is happening via the interweb.

I'm not sure how posting info on this forum helps further pool. We're already the audience. Kinda like stirring a pot of chicken soup in hopes of creating more of it. :scratchhead:
 
The average league player (where most of the money in pool is spent) doesn't know who any of the current pro's are. Most don't care.
Pool as a passion and pool as a means of earning a living rarely intersect. The game is changing with the trend being toward smaller tables, faster games and an assortment of gadgets, gizmo's, and instructional material for the aspiring banger who wants to get to the nationals with their team. Is this a bad thing? The hundreds of thousands of league players would as a majority say no.

The pinball machine became the video game which became the interactive at home no controller required entertainment system. Things change. Attention span shortens.

What is pathetic is pining over the "good old days" which if you were living through them probably weren't so good.

Nastalgia and resistance to change makes the past look better than it really was.

I don't understand the complaint. Live scoring is being provided on this site, as well as tournament brackets, and there are numerous reports on the home page and on these forums about individual players and matches. Where's the problem?

i may be pathetic for lots of reasons. but this...this is not one of them. so please change the "we" to "I". i've been following this thing like a m****r f****r on this message board and on AZ live scoring all week and have no complaints. i appreciate everything that AZ and the other members have contributed all week. you sir, suck. and i'm pretty sure WE all feel that way.
 
I've been sitting here in Missouri and refusing to report on the U S Open. I agree it's pathetic.

Here goes - the U S Open is underway. It features a lot of pool players. The pool players play pool for a few days until a winner is decided. It is pay per view on the internet which severely limits the audience and which is why most people have no idea what is actually happening.

If you need any more updates just ask. After all, if you don't ask how will you learn?
 
To be honest, I really enjoy looking at the LIVE part where you can see what's going on on each table. Last night games were clicking by and my heart starting beating fast.

The brackets are easy to see and read once you know how it all works.

From the pictures I did see, it looks like a great event.


The only time I ever hear anyone complain is right here on AZBilliards which is a very small community in the pool world.:smile:

AZB has the brackets, the scores, and for only 10 bucks you can watch it.
WTF more do you want. You wanna help pool out, give the poor bastard streaming the event a lousy 10 bucks.
 
Why are people pathetic and sad.

Because they take the time and expense to visit the Open or any other large tourney or show, and they have nothing better to do than take a
camera and lap top with them just to keep you up to date on whats happening.

Trust me on this one Bud, when you are at a venue such as this or any other, there are just so many great things to do other than keep you entertained.

People take cameras with them and when they get back, there are usually a ton of threads started with pictures and commentary.

Just because it doesn't happen when you think it should doesn't make anyone pathetic or sad.
