Is str8shots a non profit? Or are they a business that donates to specific charitable groups? I see nothing written that identifies str8shots as a 501c3 or not for profit charitable entity. Where are you getting your info? If a business sends $ to specific charitable groups and is up front about that in your opinion that is problematic?
No, you did something wrong in concluding that. This thread is up to about 600 replies now and 20,000 views, but neither of those is near the top 10. You also forgot to check all of the forums, not just the Main Forum.

1. mark cantrill put out a thread called " danny harriman". he was inquiring about dannys where abouts.
2. mark then sends justin a txt wanting his thoughts on a match mark was wanting to do between danny and john.
3. mark does not hear from justin and goes ahead with plans for a match.for next year "2014"
4. justin reads on here about mark setting up the match and then starts a thread offering to put on the same match.
5. mark knew about the rivalry but did not know how much hatred was between these 2. when he finds out he talks to his boss " kimberly " who was not aware he was setting this match up by the way and she said no.
6. shit hits the fan on here because of a whole lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding.
7. kimberly feels bad because of all the shit that has transpired and decides to pay both players even though she cancelled the match.
8. danny comes on here telling tar thanks but no thanks on his offer and is going to take str8shots offer instead, not knowing str8shots has cancelled the match.
every one is gonna believe what they want to believe or just has a reading comprehension problem because these are the facts . everything else is just theories, speculation or conjecture.
I havent read the last few hours worth of posts I have been on the phone talking with Kimberly from Str8 Shots. There has been a lot of crossed wires in this situation obviously. Here are some things that should help clear it up:
1. Str8 Shots is not doing a Danny/John match now or in the future. Off the table.
2. Kimberly is unfamiliar with AZ and forums in general. This is a big reason the OP that started this brushfire read the way it did. I am as guilty of getting riled up over it as anyone. After speaking with her I believe 100% that her and husband want nothing but good things for pool and the people who play and watch it.
3. Str8 Shots focus has been Juniors and local events in the past. They are not as intimately familiar with all pro players and the history of the pro game as many here are. This has caused some miscommunications and mixed signals to happen.
4. There has been a large element of the "Telephone Game" effect in action throughout this entire situation. Sometimes what is said and what is meant become two different things when filtered through multiple lines of communication.
5. After two long conversations with Kimberly I find we agree on many things relating to pool and what it will take to improve the state of it in this country. Str8 Shots has been doing many good things no one has heard of. I consider myself wired in pretty good and I was unaware of most of them. They put time money and effort into things they believe in. That is desperately needed in this game.
6. After all that has went on in this thread I feel Str8 Shots has taken a whipping they really do not deserve. Most of that is due to the simple fact that things written on a forum by someone unfamiliar with the landscape can easily be taken out of context. I will be the first to admit I was guilty of this in this thread. My personal opinion based on knowing many people in this thread in person and most through my time here is that the great majority were just standing up for their opinions based on the facts as they understood them.
Unfortunately many of those facts for various reasons were not correct leading to good people making statements that are not warranted based on what REALLY has happened. Its confusing as hell and in all my time here I have never seen a similar situation spin out control so fast.
7. The Str8 Shots crew are good people not out to screw anyone over or micro manage the players they sponsor. They expect people they associate with to conduct themselves as professionals when representing them. That is something I think almost everyone here will agree is a good thing.
I feel really bad for having gotten twisted up in this mess and want to apologize to Kimberly and her husband for the part I played in this thing getting out of control. I believe in my heart they want nothing but good things and simply walked into a situation they had no knowledge off and got caught in a trap. In the future I will support Str8 Shots and do anything I can to help them.
I have always been vocal when I think someone is trying to pull a move on the pool world. History has proved me right on almost all occasions. On this one I was wrong. These are good people doing good things. I hope everyone will calm down and maybe take my word that there is no malice here on anyone's part. Its just a misunderstanding that got rapidly out of hand.

Yeah, after I did that I realized the sort didn't work. I sorted it 3 times and got 3 different lists! Oh well, it might still make it, but it's got a long way to go.

I too feel this thread has completely gone off the rails. Here you have a new group to our community with completely good intentions and a fumbled delivery.
I haven't heard much about Str8 shots yet, but it's all been very positive. I just can't see any bad intentions here. Actually, next weekend I'm making the trip up to Midwest City Oklahoma to attend their event scheduled at Jamaica Joe's. I'm looking forward to it.
As for the match, I think I'm probably the only person in this thread who can say that I've been there. Meaning that I had my company's name on John when he played Danny both times. And, as great as those matches were, today I would be scared to death to do it again.
There's just something between these two that screams "anything can happen". I think the tension is even higher now than it was back when they last played. Sure, it might be very entertaining, but there's also a chance it won't be. I respect Str8 shots for deciding what they think is right. I would do the same thing. If John feels it's the wrong decision, then he's more than capable of working that out with them. He doesn't need our help.
Let's move on from this and let Str8 shots show us how great they can be for pool.

I think the real story is that the OP post "was what really happened" until the shit hit the jet intake and then all of a sudden there was huge miscommunication and nothing was what anyone meant to say since nobody really knew the AZB culture.
