TAR PROPOSAL - SVB vs WANG CAN

How old is Yang? I think he's getting a little long in the tooth. Johnnyt

The Chinese think you "wisen" , or get better, as you age! They don't see age as being a big influence for an "old teacher (or master)". It only takes practice to sharpen ones skills.

I like the way they think. Johnnyt

How many viewers on average watch a single TAR match over the weekend? I'd be curious to see those numbers...because I really do think a China vs. USA match would sell tremendously. A lot of people here would bet on SVB (I would), so why not try to set something up? Who cares who he's playing. If they're playing for some cash, PEOPLE WILL WATCH.

Yang Ching Shun? He's 35. Hasn't won anything in a while.
Wang Can's only 19, should have enough seasoning for a TAR match if he can get here.

I'd rather see Andrew Cleary vs. Dan Lewis. I'm sure it would sell like hotcakes. Battle of the worst in North America.

I believe Shane has played Lee Van Corteza 3 long 10 ball races and hasn't one any of 'em....
I would way rather pay to Shane play him than some short stop like Corey again.

Corey Deuel is a shortstop?

I'll tell 'em.

At most he's an average run of the mill pro..... He's surly not in the elite class. He probably has more talent & knowledge than anyone else out there but without a work ethic he's just another face in the crowd that does not deserve a spot on TAR.

You know, I almost agree with you. Johnnyt

There were talks with some of Ko's people this July. Its not as easy as you think it would be. I have tried off and on for years. Truth be told my bet is the match would not sell that well anyway simply because so many in the US do not know the Asian players. I will still do a match with one of the Asian champions if I can but I'm not gonna kill myself trying.

Would you have the resources for Asian (Chinese) marketing as well? What I mean is, sure, it would be all online advertising, but you'd wanna do it in Chinese language, on Chinese language pool sites.

Even more important would Asian pool fans care to see onenof their Champions play in the TAR format?

I lived in Taiwan for 3 years and I have lived with Chinese connections for over 40 years and there is ONE thing that I have learned, if nothing else. Chinese LOVE to gamble...on EVERY THING! Especially if they think they have a LOCK on it.

If somehow gambling could be tied into matches like this, then this would be "their cup of tea". They are EXTREMELY NATIONALISTIC and when their Little League teams from Taiwan used to win the World Championships every year you would have thought they were talking about the New York Yankees winning the World Series.

If they thought their Chinese dude had the advantage, they would bet cash money on that.

I'm just sooooo mad a Corey. He's probably the most gifted player ever and he just doesn't give a crap. It hurts to watch.

I think Corey has regressed as a rotation player. Not dramatically, but somewhat. I think he should stop experimenting so much with his odd breaks and he would do better.

He has improved his 1 pocket game though over the last few years it seems. In fact, he is probably one of the best in the world at this game. He takes forever to play the game though. His match against Orcollo was unbearable at times

Another face in the crowd! WOW have you been hanging out with Toronto's mayor?
