Unfortunatly Mosconi Cup will have to be missed this time I am afraid. I have kids who deserve Christmas more than I or Jessica deserve a trip to Vegas.

I don't think they look at the forums any longer and red rep probably will mean less than nothing to them.
I'd love to hear if they really got paid. Highly doubt it. Maybe they just donated the payments to the kids in each player's name?

I feel terrible about them letting you go. I'm sure it had something to do with the match and those two are both at times very difficult.
I took a position for my own amusement and now it seems we were playing for higher stakes and I apologize for my part in in.
That said. Str8shots sucks.

I'm not going to hammer Str8Shots. I don't know enough @ both sides to feel well enough informed.
What Str8 brought to the party, I don't fully know - they're new - don't know their motives, biz model and people well. Whether what's said here affects a pile of beans remains to be seen.
I know a good bit @ what Mark brought to Str8 and (to my understanding) delivered. Mark's track record is well recorded and regarded. Str8's is almost a blank slate. Ball's in their court IMO.

Mark's getting the short end. In my incredibly unbased opinion
Str8 took his knowledge, experience and hard work, twisted things, and felt they had the tools to move forward without him to save $. They made an excuse to part due to $ issues. Str8 has a chance to get it str8 or be stained. Mark can deliver goods they never will be able to. Their aspirations are larger than ascribed to, to date.
In closing... Str8 is in a tough place, trying (hopefully) to do good. I think they're up against a wall. Alienating a pillar of the industry seems a gamble.

Your whole purpose for posting in this thread at this time in the first place is to cause problems for Str8-shots and gain a whole lot of sympathy from a bunch of people who will say bad things about Str8-shots knowing they will not come on here and reply. I will reply if you post anything derogatory about them, their business or about how they do business. I don't work for Str8-shots so I can handle any of the bull%^&* that will come from replying right now.
There is always two sides to every story. As someone in the know about you and your actions over the past few weeks I don't find it surprising for you to post in this thread to create more problems for Str8-shots. That is the type of person you are. It isn't my place to tell everyone Str8-shots business because I don't work for them however, you posted on this thread to first gain sympathy and then cause more issues for Str8-shots and I don't like it. You got away with the first mess, not this time!
I know how badly this thread hurt Kimberly, especially losing three kids whom she sponsored because of this stupid thread. Had Kimberly known that trying to explain why a match that she did not setup, want to setup or have anything to do with in the first place because YOU were supposed to be working on a different match altogether would cause this much damage to her reputation she would have never posted here. Kimberly did not trash you despite it being your damn fault she had to come on this forum and reply to all of the bad press because people are too damn quick to think negatively about a newcomer to the pool industry.
Str8-shots is in business to help kids learn about pool, sportsmanship, integrity, ethics, and get a chance of a lifetime to play in a major tournament against other kids from around the world. Kimberly and Marc's first priority is and always will be working with the kids and that is not in your priority bucket. You want to setup matches, get comped for everything, sit back and watch everyone else work then take your cut. That is one of the biggest problems in this freaking industry, everyone wants a cut but not put in the time and effort required to grow something.
Mark, take responsibility for your actions and not make it seem as if Str8-shots did you wrong. Your woe is me, poor me at Christmas time is your fault because of the way you do things.

Wait a minute...they hire a guy that is industry wide known for setting up matches, then he does just that, and he is in the wrong for doing what he does best? That's like hiring a plumber and then complaining because he fixed your plumbing! Sounds a lot more like they never clearly defined what they were hiring Mark for in the first place.

Doing what you do best is good, doing what is best for the company keeps you employed. A Harriman/Schmidt match does nothing for a company that wants to work with kids due to the animosity and tension between these two players.
