I don't care what the hell he does off the course, just like I don't care what Earl does away from the table.t. I only care about their performance and behavior while participation in their sport.

Click on User CP on top of page. Then on left under Settings & Options click on Edit Options. On the page that comes up go to Thread Display Options and change the "Number of Posts to Show Per Page". I got it on 40.
Really? That compares at all to what Earl did? Where did it show Tiger talking down to his opponent while in the middle of play? Where does is show Tiger bad mouthing his own teammates? Tiger is no knight in shining armor by any means, and is about as bad as it gets in the PGA at times, but he'd have been boo'd off the course if he behaved anything like Earl. Tiger also gets fined by the PGA for cursing outbursts, throwing clubs and the like which shows these things are not ok to their sport.

The irony of it all is that a few days ago, Earl Strickland became everyone's hero after watching that documentary "The Strickland Story."
People came out of the woodwork on this forum to post about Earl Strickland, how much they admired him, now that they know him better. Some even changed their opinions about Earl, and some stated they were now a fan of his.
Today, Earl is a bad man on this forum.

I really don't like Earl but with all honesty blame his fans as much as himself.
Earl can read and knows whats said about him.
He knows he's a sideshow and most people seem to love it.
People can't start picking and choosing what venue this is
appropriate or inappropriate to act like this.
To me,he shouldn't act like that at any event but you really
can't blame Earl anymore,when most people get such great
pleasure watching a grown man have multiple breakdowns
throughout a match.
I would bet that if Earl just sat quietly and played,there would be plenty of
disappointed people wanting and waiting to see the train wreck begin.

Earl is seeing not only pool going down but also he sees how he is in decline after all the things he has won and after 40 years of giving it his all he sees the end. He has devoted so much to pool and last several years pool has not been kind. He has always has so much passion to win he wasn't the greatest loser. If someone doesn't get this guy help he will end up putting a gun in his mouth. I mean pool is this guys life and it is crumbling down and one day it will make him crumble.

Earl is supposed to change his behavior because he's playing in the Mosconi Cup?one thing you did not take away from Earl is his desire to win.anyone who did not expect Earl to be behaving in that manner has not seen him play before.
Those fines mean nothing to him.
The thing Tiger has is a whole team of people who's job is to build his image. For example he has coaching on how to act during interviews. He also has an industry that goes out of its way to show him in the most favorable light possible, much like SVB does in pool but on a much larger scale.

I blame most of what Earl does in tournaments on the TD's, refs, and promoters. If they would/would have kicked him out of tournaments when he started his crap, or at least taken games and matches away from him this would never have gotten this far. Johnnyt
I enjoy some of Earl's antics, and love the way he plays, but talking and especially mocking the opponent when he is at the table, is simply cheating. There are boundaries when it comes to sharking, and Earl pushes them way too far at times. He was very close to being DQ'd I think. JonnyT is probably right, in that he has too often been given too long a leash. I think part of the problem is that games like 9 ball provide enough slop and lucky rolls in determining the victor, that it's easy to find excuses and hard to simply rely on doing the talking with one's cue. This no doubt frustrates Earl, as it does me.
