Rhea the new Chapter, without Gene

Rhea doesn't have a vehicle and apparently wasn't getting any action where she was at. How long was she supposed to stay there chasing after her belongings? It isn't like she could hop in the car and pop over to this other girl's house. The "friend" who took her stuff wasn't answering her phone. Sometimes you have to make a decision to cut your losses and move on.

Who knows, perhaps there was something "funny" or whatever going on in the relationship with this other girl that made her hesitate to get the authorities involved. Who knows. Or perhaps she's dealt with authorities before and realized getting them to help much in this sort of matter is a long shot at best.

Sounds like it was a few hundred dollars in clothes and accessories and a SS Card. You can get a SS Card replaced rather easily. I've needed mine once in the past 20 years I think that being when I've traveled out of country and needed a passport.

So should she have hung around where she was making no money, crying over spilt milk? Or should she just have chalked it up to lesson learned and move on and try to make it up?

Seems to me, it must be incredibly difficult to be on the road like she is without a vehicle. The situation that just occurred could certainly happen again and it increases security risks or costs always trying to find a ride or rent a cab.

People you THINK are your 'friends' are usually the first ones to stab you in the back. It takes strangers a little longer to find your weak spot. I'd call the police and ask them how to handle this situation before going about it myself. Good Luck and sorry for this unfortunate and sad experience.. Some people just suk!
This is great advice and here's another situation that's hard to believe. You think you know someone, but you don't know them at all.

I posted on her Facebook page asking why she left me at bogies last night and that I hope she's okay. She texted me today like she was mad I posted it on her page for her friends and family to see?

Anyway I am playing at bogies today in the Lone Star Tour.

She's got the nerve to act mad at you.....this is unbelievable. Good luck Rhea and be careful. This happened to you when you knew the person so just think of the strangers who don't know you who will take advantage of you. The world can be a cruel place and you need to watch your back at all times.

SC, as my late Brother said, sometimes a Good friend is not worth the hassle that they can cause you.

I found out a few times myself.

Confucius said, A lucky man can count his friends on one hand.

Myself, I have it down about right. The rest are just good acquaintances.

I'm not sure I ever had a SS card. A SSN yes but not a card. I'm 50+, employed, have valid drivers license, concealed weapons permit, passport and library card and have traveled all over the globe. They are mot needed and just make it easier to have your identity screwed with.

The problem is that someone else may have Rhea's social security number, or maybe not according to what her former friend did with her card. We are all speculating anyway but I am sure Rhea will be a little less trusting going forward, lesson learned.. Life in the streets is no picnic, been there done that....

Wow Texas has been no picnic, I've gotten a little action in Dallas ft worth and in Arlington. But one guy in Arlington stiffed me for $400.00. Sometimes winning isn't enough.

I got mine in about 1965 or so. It says, "Not to be used for identification purposes."

Golly, I guess the government was not telling the truth. I never knew they'd lie to me. I thought they were elected angels of democracy and dedicated to the public good and saviors of mankind and defenders against chaos and protectors of privacy and sacrificed their personal desires for We the People.

ALWAYS pay off after every game OR post the bet with the bar tender/pool room owner whom you have already tipped.

If someone doesn't want to pay off after every game or post the money, you should know something is up with that. It's common sense but sometimes, that is just earned experience. You've got it now, just don't make the same mistake.

When I hire people, if that person does not have a US Passport, I have to see two forms of identification, usually a drivers license/state ID and a SS card.

There are other forms that can be used, but these are the two most common.

Mine is a basic national retail chain. I'm quite sure there are many other places that will have similar requirements.

Joey. I liked to play by the game, post bet before each game. If someone doesn't want to post there is a 95% chance you will get air barreled if you win. Johnnyt only stiffed once in his life, and for just $10. I told the story on here...I hit him in the head with a bar cue. Johnnyt

I seldom if ever, post the bet before each game. However my dad always told me, "Lie to me once, shame on you, lie to me twice, shame on me".

I try to make sure that if there is going to be a lie, it is going to be a little white lie.

I don't play with a bar cue.

Johnny, just curious, but... how many times have you gotten your azz kicked after pulling some of these moves?

I know you have told us that you were a 5'4" lean, mean, sh!t talkin' machine, but still...
