Rhea doesn't have a vehicle and apparently wasn't getting any action where she was at. How long was she supposed to stay there chasing after her belongings? It isn't like she could hop in the car and pop over to this other girl's house. The "friend" who took her stuff wasn't answering her phone. Sometimes you have to make a decision to cut your losses and move on.
Who knows, perhaps there was something "funny" or whatever going on in the relationship with this other girl that made her hesitate to get the authorities involved. Who knows. Or perhaps she's dealt with authorities before and realized getting them to help much in this sort of matter is a long shot at best.
Sounds like it was a few hundred dollars in clothes and accessories and a SS Card. You can get a SS Card replaced rather easily. I've needed mine once in the past 20 years I think that being when I've traveled out of country and needed a passport.
So should she have hung around where she was making no money, crying over spilt milk? Or should she just have chalked it up to lesson learned and move on and try to make it up?
Seems to me, it must be incredibly difficult to be on the road like she is without a vehicle. The situation that just occurred could certainly happen again and it increases security risks or costs always trying to find a ride or rent a cab.
