Could Shane White Wash the USBTC?????

race to 100 vs shane is 10k, at least half goes to backer, then you have plane ticket and food and lodging. playing in a tournament for 10k without having to travel is a much better option. especially since entry fee is not 10k

who said they would only play for $10K? I'm absolutely positive that they could name their price and could get action on it.

No offense but there is difference between Shane or Dennis shooting back at you and SpiderDave. I'm sure there are unknown monsters out there but none of them have the seasoning of playing other monsters like the top known players otherwise they wouldn't be unknown anymore.

I agree but Dave is also right. In China and Taiwan are a LOT of heavy hitters who can hang with Shane. They pretty much never get off the block so to speak. Wang Can is a huge exception to the rule over there. Most of those guys rarely leave to play internationally. Hell a lot of them won't even travel much inside China.

It's true that they don't have seasoning against Shane and other international pros in money games but not true that they don't have money game seasoning against world beater class players.

Remember Li He Wen? Second to Darren last year in the World Championships? This is the type of player you can run into in almost every decent pool room in Shanghai, Beijing, and Xiamen.

I played a room owner from Shanghai who came in with a purse FULL of cash to play with. There is so much money in China being wagered that it would make everyone who thinks of themselves as high rollers because they bet 10k now and then feel like they were $5 B players. That said they are not stupid and will try to negotiate the nuts when Shane walks through the door. For some reason people don't really like to "gamble" on pool no matter what their nationality is. :-)

One of my friends though said he made a lot of money putting Mizerak in games during Steve's visits to Taiwan and China in the 80s and 90s.

This.

A complete unknown?

Six figures wouldn't be out of the question IMO.

Sorry for getting off topic.

Justin, none of my Internet browsers are loading the audiovideoweb site to play the PPV. How do I fix this? I was watching it perfectly all day at my house but now I am at someone else's house. Their internet is working perfectly and this is the only website that wouldn't load. Thank you for the help in advance.

I answered you in the other thread. In the future if you have an issue please contact me via email at justin@theactionreport.com . I monitor that much closer than AZ or Facebook.

this race to 100 argument is just stupid to begin with.

who's going to want to spend 3K+ in flight and expenses to play someone even.

Shane can go challenge Dennis to 1p for the cash.

Why is it stupid? If someone wants to play Shane a race to 100 in 10 ball, they could retire. Why is that stupid?

because it doesn't support his position...

Why... It's stupid because it nullifies his position silly...

b/c its a match that wont ever happen. No one from China is going to fly half way across the world, deal with jet lag and expenses involved to play someone even.

The China open 1st place is 40K. Shane is welcome to go try and win that. He has not. He said himself that he doesn't do well in international tourneys b/c of having to deal with an unfamiliar environment and jet lag issues.

Not saying that I dont think Shane is a favorite vs anyone on a Diamond table race to 100 10b. Its his best game and the format favors him most.

Jay,
Do any of these Chinese players want to match up with Shane? Race to 100, 9 or 10 ball nobody on the planet can get there, IMO
And I wonder if people on a Chinese pool forum somewhere are saying to their players "until you travel to America and beat that guy that roasts everyone he gambles with including Orcullo, you can't be the best"

Tommy, let me give you a dose of reality. You are correct that a Chinese player coming here to play Shane a long match would be the underdog. Could they win in spite of that? Maybe.

On the other hand, were Shane to travel to China to play one of their top money players on THEIR equipment in one of THEIR poolrooms he would be the underdog as well. Could he win? Maybe.

P.S. I've seen Yang and Wu at their best and they would NOT be underdogs to Shane or anyone else for that matter. I do know that Wu is back on top of his game now and there are at least a dozen players in China who can hang with him. As good as Dennis plays, he is in no hurry to run over to Taiwan (a short flight) to play money games. Neither are ANY of the other top filipinos! Does that tell you something? Now when Taiwanese (or Chinese) players come to Manila they can get all the action they want. Something about playing at home on equipment they "know" that makes a pool player feel more comfortable.

it tells me there are great players out there, it doesn't tell me that any of them can beat Shane in a race to 100, 10-ball.

Shane can win the China Open. He can win any of the events over there.

BUT

He must learn to deal with the conditions. Kelly Fisher didn't start winning until she did two things, she put the same cloth on that they use on her table at home and she started planning her trips so that she would be in country for about a week before the events giving her time to acclimate and get comfortable.

Well with Shane's win over toasty he's one step closer.

So now Shane is pretty much a shoe in for the all around. If he can come through the loser's to win the eightball, he will have whitewashed the USBTC and taken second in the us open one hole.

Pretty impressive...

Pretty impressive no matter what he does in 8-ball. :)

What it says is that you are so blinded by your Shane hanging that you can't accept that players do exist that can beat him & are better with world titles to boot.

Of course your rallying cry is a ridiculous race to 100 in 10 ball as if that is the end all be all of games. Shane like actual world champions can enter the same events & actually win on the biggest stages internationally. Until he does, he is NOT the best player in the world as the results prove that regardless of what you think.

I think it was Billy Incardona who said he likes to judge who is the best from money won and not games won, and I think if I'm not mistaken Shane is winning more cheese than any player in the world.

Is that on paper or off?
