AT SBE: Russian Kenny + Josh Brothers = well, you know

just my 2 cents

I have found Kickin Chicken to be an honest person and great contributor to this forum and I don't doubt a word he says. I do have a funny story from SBE though, not saying this has any bearing on his story but I just wanted to share. Tom D'Alfonso (Shorty) is my roommate and best friend. He said he had the easiest 10ball ever on one of the action tables at SBE ( 3 footer straight in) and completely missed it. He did not miss it on purpose but missed it. Shorty did not dump one match the whole time he was out there (and he was asked plenty of times according to him) but if anyone was watching that game you would have thought for sure the dump was on. Shorty doesn't hustle anymore and looks at dumping and getting paid as bad money and that karma will come back an bite him so he avoids it. Sometimes things aren't always as they seem. Players get tired and have been up for days so they lose focus and miss like everyone else. Again I tell this story as just that and I am not trying to de credit Kickin in any way

no problem Nick, and I completely get how *any* player can dog a shot, even a simple one.

slightly different though, is choosing not to shoot the easy win combo. ;)

doggin it as much about mentally making mistakes in decision making as well as missing. How many times have we all seen someone or done it ourselves where we do something absurdly stupid under pressure. I can name a number of times myself, and that includes times where I came to the table with an easy combo right there and I just didnt see it. Consider that it is also possible that the fact he missed seeing that combo is also evidence that points to Brothers just in dog mode and not thinking clearly which usually translates to poor shotmaking as well.

This is that old saying coming back again. Dont you know that dogging it and dumping look exactly the same?

I was watching the rerun of the ladies match that was played after the first night. Kenny was challenging one of the commentators? The mic was on during their heated convo. I think the guy name is scott with the prosthetic arm/leg. Well scott left during the commentating to play kenny. What happened with that?

no idea

okay, will do.

thx viper.

I have no idea if you are right or wrong but I will say this. I travel a lot to tournys and a lot of champs have been asked to dump. I guess I am glad and sad to be friends with a few people that know and a few champs that will come up and say "your not betting on this are ya?" pretty sick feeling to know that a certain percentage of matches are dump jobs.

#2 I will say that playing Justin or even local shortstops those guys amaze me all the time when they just run the balls rather than shooting a combo. I see it all the time. I want to hope that is what happened with Josh. Unfortunately when that other guy is involved it is going to look bad no matter what.

I agree . Because there are many times when I'm in dog mode and it could look like I'm dumping .but I always bet my own my so it would be stupid to dump myself. Lol so translation I'm a dog and in dog mode I miss seeing the obvious shot and choose a hard shot . But the fact is that josh Won he didn't lose so the dump theory is ridiculous .

What I don't get is the guy didn't lose any $$$. If you really thought he dumped after winning a hundred on him, why not make a mental note instead of dragging the guys name through the mud. Where I'm from if something like this happens to you, you learn from it and keep it to yourself. I've been dumped by a few well known players and have actually lost $$$ kept it to myself and I will be aware what's going on next time, but like vinny said josh isn't that type of person.

There is no real way of telling its a dump or not. So why make accusations especially if there was no money lost. The dump is his opinion, which he is entitled too. It does give us a healthy debate. I just hate to see my buddy get his name drug through the mud when I know he wouldn't dump.

I just want to put it out there that I had $200 bet on josh that specific game and I con assure you he wasn't dumping. But I did not take the time to read all this posts but I can say this KENNY BRINGS OUT THE WORST IN PEOPLE. but that does not mean he and josh were together in dumping. Josh just like every other pool player on earth dogs it once in awhile. so don't think just cause he passed up a 2-10 combo that was not DEAD ON JUST TO CLEAR THAT PART UP. but just cause he went for the run out don't mean it was a dump. If we were gonna call everyone out who missed an easy shot and say it was a dump well you can add * of the top players in the world on that list because in the pit at the sbe I witnessed many top players miss easy shots and not get out on easy outs. But that is considered dumping huh? come on people wtf you guys are killing action destroying POOL with these stupid comments and remarks. so if you cant take the loss then DONT BET YOUR MONEY..............PERIOD

Philly, you seem to have been around a lot of action....so have I.
Dumping has been the single greatest deterrent to this game nearing
the status of golf.
I think you know that also.

So, if I had to bet blind, I would bet on what KC says....
...and maybe some more should speak up and help pool.

I used to play, but I also backed and side-bet...and it was like going
to a strange poker game....when you got good cards, the first thing
you thought of is....'where did they come from'.

I've had gamblers tell me that they backed players against me 'cause
at least they knew it would be on the square, even if their horse wanted
to dump.

KC is the teacher

ps
I do think it's remarkable that you castigate people that run off at the mouth...
....with run-on sentences...:winknudge:

This game just makes people talk to themselves, and for good reason. People have done so many backwards things since before we were even alive.

I do think it's a shitty grey area to put this kinda thing out there, especially with no proof other than saying the 2-10 was wired. However, it's no secrete that the pit is a dump show. Not everyone who steps in the box is paid off, but a lot of things happen and it's not by accident. I've heard it straight from the dumpers mouth and I've been asked to get down with them… but I don't get down like that.

Dumping is not so bad......just the other day I dumped philly viper

My end was a coke and a bag of cheetos.

and this, is why we have put our 3 major tourneys on hold for this year. once you've had that "bad taste in your mouth" - it's hard to drop dime further for it.
.

Even easy combos are missable. As long as they are laying reasonable I'm for sure going for the out unless the combo is 100%.

If that's the only evidence and the guy allegedly dumping actually won the game then this thread is in really poor taste and makes the 2 players playing look really bad and hurting their reps for potentially no reason.

kinda like you not reading this entire thread and then jumping in at the end with a comment that makes me look really bad and hurts my rep?

I wonder if Josh's reaction to questioning of his shot selection was mre from the perspective,"I am playing and I get to pick my shots", rather than one that was evidence he had some predetermined agenda?

Caveat emptor an all that, ya know?

Could it have been?
