The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

John,

Time to tell your side. I was a little involved in that dispute but it was so long ago my memories are really vague. Maybe I'll have to get the old HP out of the garage and search for the emails.

I will ask you the same thing - to make an earnest effort at being understanding. Everybody has motivations. It's difficult sometimes figuring out what went wrong.

Chris

Chris, I am waiting for Lou to finish up. When he has had his say I will write the story from my perspective. Mike Lalumiere was actually a surprise to me and his presence did affect me but that's part of the story and me being affected is my problem and not his.

There are a number of things I did wrong, many things I did right and at the end of it I still wouldn't trade the experience for the $10,000 back.

I understand some of Lou's thoughts on this and will address them. There are some points which are have not been factually related in my opinion and I will address those. Otherwise I think it was a fascinating journey and not a bad thing for the common player to go through. I probably won't ever skydive but this was certainly thrilling and agonizing for me and a highlight of my pool playing life. Winning of course would have been better but in a two man event only one can win and so this time I didn't so I am ok with second place knowing that there are thousands who wouldn't even enter the tournament. :-)

Your definition of bad action is your opinion, but it is only part of it. There is more to the phrase bad action that just not paying a bet after you lose. That is a fact. Without derailing the thread too much to discuss that (sorry Lou), there is no argument there. To list multiple examples #1 is calling off all "confirmed bets" from people on here. You can say it doesn't count until the first ball is struck but that is absolute BS. You constantly stated over and over Lou had no chance, so you should have been begging to get action from AZers. You also stated that you would take action in person at the match. Even a measly $100 was declined by someone who drove clear out there to watch you. I will even give another example...let's say I bet the Bulls are going to win their game tonight for $50. Derrick Rose gets injured prior to the game. Can I cancel the bet now that the tipoff hasn't happened? A bet is a bet, period. IF the other parties want to let you out, than that is up to them. You are lucky that action room was nice enough to do so. I can list more examples of bad action, but just listing a couple there is enough.

I was going to bet on this match and did post once in the action thread, but there was 0 chance I was betting with you as you are bad action in my book. Even after it was proven you got Frosty's paypal shut down you still tried to argue on here that you did nothing wrong even when he pointed out that paypal mentioned your email was the reason it was being shut down. He is cool now about it, so it's all good on his end...I won't forget it though. You are pretty much NEVER wrong about anything regardless of the topic and even when facts are presented to you, you turn the blinders on and start spewing post after post disagreeing. It is what it is with you in regards to that.

As for the miss-spelling of my last name Spinali, is that an Italian slur or are you trying to be funny? Save your intentional crap for the members that nut hug and buy your cases...they are the only ones who care. The rest of us have seen it in the past even way before the match started...even parties who never heard of you are starting to understand what you are all about. You can try to talk sht about poker and pool making claims and putting words in my mouth...please. I have been blessed with some ability to play both, but you don't hear me tooting my horn on here about it unless I am making a funny in the league thread for example. I am also great action in that area on this site and 2+2.

As for a troll...well I have done plenty for the game of pool, on here, and just in life in general. I don't hide behind a screen name and go out of my way to help others that ask. As for you thinking I am a troll...well lol ok, in your mind I am a troll. Your opinion on me has 0 meaning on an internet forum. It's all good though...keep posting, as this super nobody gets a laugh out of just about every BS post you do. It is entertaining, and that is what this forum likes...drama/entertainment.

I know you get your jollies out of the forum. Lots of people do.

But you can't understand when someone is barking to hype up a match and when someone is actually angry.

IF I really thought I had the nuts then I would have made LIESOMEMORE bet every quarter he had on him and his clothes PRIOR to the match. I would have insisted that ALL the money be posted prior instead of letting them just post 3k.

Neither side thought they had the nuts despite BOTH sides claiming they did.

I don't really care what your definition of bad action is because you are not betting with me. I promise you that if I want to bet something then I can walk in to any pool room in the country and play for whatever I feel like playing for and no one refuses my action. I don't hang out in the sports betting bookie side of this forum and I have never stiffed anyone out of thousands like some of your good action buddies have done.

Also it was not proven that I got anybody's paypal shut down. You don't have the slightest clue how paypal works. That's your projection Matt Spinali. Just because you Matt Spinali use paypal illegally against their terms of service to gamble and pay your bets doesn't mean you know how or why they operate. It only means you are speeding until you get caught. I didn't get anyone's paypal closed Spinali.

What I am about Spinali?

I stepped up and bet my own against a guy who was touted by everyone to be several balls better. You ever done that for any significant amount Spinali? I doubt it.

I put myself out there every day supporting ten families - what do you do? Sell air conditioners and pretend like you are a major gambler? Pray that your paypal doesn't get locked if they find out that Matt Spinali is using their service to gamble with? I don't have that problem Spinali.

I will be posting my itinerary on here and Facebook if you ever decide you want to sit down and tell me all this in person. Email Eric Hu for tips on using pool balls to assault people before you come. The fact is you have no clue what I am about and you only get your jollies trolling people who are better than you could ever dream of being.

I have no idea how to spell your name Spinali. Feel free to correct me and I will use the right spelling. I don't do racial slurs. Being an asshole is free for anyone to be regardless of race. I only see people as humans not races. Race only matters to me in so far as I need to be respectful of the culture of another race. Assholes all get the same treatment from me regardless of how they want to be a bad example of their race. I have no clue that you have italian heritage and frankly don't care that you do. What does that even mean? Is there something about you being italian that is supposed to mean something to me?

Also Spinalli, Spinally, Spinale, or whatever, my comments did not get anyone's paypal closed. Period.

Paypal is smarter than that.

Wow...just look at this response people. What a great guy. Besides all the words you are putting in my mouth with these posts (having never met in person or even spoken to me on the phone) and now talking about my work and continually saying Spinali?? I'll let you continually self destruct with your posts. You know NOTHING about me and this post is just yet another example proving my point about what a disgusting person you are. Once again my apologies Lou, I will not respond to this guy anymore in this thread.

Good. You shouldn't have made your shitty comments in the first place. You talk about the match as if you have the facts when you weren't there and are hearing other people's accounts. You have constantly throughout the years put out your speculations about me and you whine about me repeating your own words back to you?

I only know as much about you as you choose to put up here. You are a big gambler who uses paypal for your interstate online gambling activities, your name is Matt Spinalli, or Matt Spinali, or Matt Spinale, some variation thereof, you sell HVAC stuff. That's all I know about you. Is any of that not factual?

Since you like to talk about me why do you mind if I list these things. Are they bothersome to you in some way? You told us all of them.

I've told this story many times: Maybe like 10 years ago I asked on RSB what would cause a ball to lose a significant amount of speed coming off a rail. Didn't name any pool hall.

Next thing I know Chris is complaining to Shirley that I'm bad mouthing them, puts on his jacket, and tells her "it's him or me" and storms out of the pool hall. Shirley, of course, choose to support junior. Best thing that ever happened to my pool game. I had stayed loyal to C&C for many years because of Bob. He was a player himself and treated me very well when he was alive. I continued to play there after his death, even though I hated the equipment and all the mismatched tables, out of loyalty. Then this happen. I think that was the week Gail I went to Jamaica for a week. When we got home there was a box on our door. In it were the 8x10 B&W photos of me playing in the US Open that used to hang by the 1pocket table in the corner and the set of centennials I used to keep there. And that was it. I then went on to be a regular at Chesterfield Billiards for many years and, after it closed, The Break. Like I said, best thing that ever happened to my pool game and I don't miss it one little tiny bit. Same couple of guys passing the same $100 bill back and forth night after night (if Big Ed isn't in retirement again for the umpteenth time).

Lou Figueroa

That's interesting, I no longer live in St Louis but every time I played at C & C it was as boring as a library. If I wanted to play some 14.1 in peace and quiet without the usual pool hall stuff going on around me that's where I went. Maybe you were a little too colorful for the place.

I also played at Chesterfield in a league with Jerry Terbrock. Nice little room but a long drive for me and I figured they had to be paying a big lease in that area, not surprised they didn't make it work.

Great writing Lou.
I enjoyed reading that very much.

I wish you have admin rights to this thread so you can just delete the garbage posts here.

Mr. Wilson, can you please just delete all the garbage posts in this thread?

Things are getting right back to where they always will in these types of threads. Soon it will be a full blown rant filled with profanities and name calling, wait it is already there. What a surprise!

My apologies guys as I absolutely did NOT mean to hijack this thread with calling him out. I will edit my posts now and we can get back on track.

Matt Spina, NOT Spinali and other names intentionally used in this thread.

Seriously, it's getting old .
And seriously, some should just man it up already.
Make it legal and sign up at the local amateur MMA fights.
Just duke it out there.
Seriously.

U Got That Right! Being banned multiple times and warned who knows how often have not worked so here we go again.. Congrats to Lou, I don't think he ever does this again...

... so this time I didn't so I am ok with second place knowing that there are thousands who wouldn't even enter the tournament. :-)

I will say, before the match, I was taken aback by of all your barking. However, your conduct during the match and your attitude about everything that happened since then has earned my respect as a fellow pool player. Learning how to lose is one of the most difficult lessons in all of sports.

You were the man in the arena.
