Well Hog I should add that anytime, anytime whatsoever I always am honest with the seller. I tell them either this is for my collection or im looking to resell this right off that bat. People respect and understand that. Kinda like America pickers. And everytime I decide to make an offer; esp if it's a low offer I start by saying " id like to make u an offer but I do not want to offend you " . I've never been told they do not want to at least hear it. And really by saying that I can't recall anyone getting upset either. Worst they can say is no.

Thats me in my avatar...drew the QB back between the 13 and the rail, got BIH then got out to get me deep into the money in our county open tournament...After getting pumped back up with my tourney winnings I got steered and steaked (I asked the waitress what was good and she steered me towards the steak)...I was all in but later had to run to the restroom to let it all out....

Yep...the Porsche became a PITA...people calling, wanting to buy it. The more valuable as a collectable coveted by others it became, the less I enjoyed driving it.

No regrets...I had my fun with it, now it's my Istanbul friend's time. Funny thing though...he has written that he now understands the burden I passed on to him. Cars like that attract those who know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

To get back on topic...waiting for others to explain their avatars...

My avatar's change from time to time, but currently it's of my Jim Baxter jp's. They came out so nice and represent my Star City cue (and my being from the Star City) so nicely I felt they needed to be shared.

A few have put pictures of themselves with pros as their avatar. I have a pic of myself with Allison Fisher I was gonna use but couldn't force myself to take down the jp's.


To keep it pool related, I made a $20 donation at a charity tournament to play her in one rack of nine ball. I broke and ran to the seven which I rattled leaving her an easy two ball out. It was fun though, and all for charity.

Of course, mine is an actual picture of a devilishly handsome guy shooting the 8 ball.

With the exception of the members that use nice looking women in their avatars, they screw me up.

I was just thinking after reading Charlie Hustles post, he has used this avatar for some time. The football player with blood running down his face. That is how I picture him to be.

BHQ, (Brent Hartman, cue maker), uses a young Paul Newman and that is how I picture Brent when he posts. Altho, I really know what
Brent looks like in real life. Not a bad looking dude but not Paul Newman.

KTown, his avatar I believe is one of the guys on The Big Lebowski and I figure that if I ever met him, that is what he would look like.

I just got in and not even drunk yet. Am I screwed up or has anyone had the same thoughts?

Oh yeah, just remembered Rossaroni with his mullet pic and poodle. I actually thought that was him for a while until I saw a real pic of him.

Amonis

My avatar has a story: I was working and living in Lagos Nigeria late 1970s early 80s. The majority of art being produced by local artists at the time consisted of landscapes of river scenes, village or market scenes etc. The artist who painted this picture is named Amonis. I new him well, traded and shared a Star beer or two with him frequently.

So one afternoon he showed up at our apartment, we opened a couple of beers, he laid out his art and this picture stood out to me. I said "Amonis what were you thinking? No white man will buy this." He said "Oh boss I was smoking the we-we"(local jargon for marajuana). I bought the picture and carried it all over the world it remains one of my favorites and now hangs in my pool room.

I'm not gonna lie....I dig my avatar as well as her non twin sister Eliza. It's nice to be able to rotate the love between the two of them. Who knows...I may add a 3rd sister TBD.
