Guns and Cues, Show us your Piece

Anybody else get gun flashed by Cuban Joe? I gambled with him once after that. I could tell he was all bark. I actually thought he was a nice guy even though he was a genuine hustler.

What is your opinion on the ruger sr1911? I've been contemplating one for a little bit.

Never fired a bullet, bought it and put it away, just like I do with pool cues.
My Kimber is my daily shooter, so I decided not to fire the Ruger.
While I was searching for the right 1911 .45 I put my name on the famous "Ruger SR1911 list" at Green Mountain Guns, and when my name finally came up I bought it, even though I already bought the Kimber.
Although I knew the SR1911 was a terrific pistol and a great value, I consulted with Sev, who suggested I just buy it at that price.
Green Mountain guns gets in thirty (30) SR1911's each month from Ruger, and it almost took a year for my name to pop up.

Since everybody in Denver is on the SR1911 list, it must be a good pistol..

Pulled this out I have had it like 60 years. It is the 105 model pretty much the same as the famous "Red Rider model" but a little different. When I was a kid every kid around had an air gun and my back yards was where everybody came. We had a shooting range set up just for air guns that would collect the BB's. We liked to shoot at poker chips, dominos paper targets. We would have contests and prizes it would get real serious among us kids who was the best shot. We also had an archery range on the property that we all used as well.

Even my grandmother had an air pistol she liked to shoot. It was a lot of fun. I think today is a different time, I could not imagine doing that today. This gun by the way works perfectly, they were very well made. I was surprised to find they still make this model today and it can be bought at Walmart. Although it is probably a POS made in China that will break in a year. Sorry, I just took one quick pic that didn't really come out too well.

i like you jay but i think you may be full of BS, 3" bull at 30 ft with a darrenger,i might have to see that in person....

I have a NAA "mini revolver" just like Jay's and couldn't hit a coke can at 6" with the damn thing. I'm probably just a bad shot!!!

I see quite a few 45 ACP/AUTOS going to post mine when the wife is not looking.

I have shot a lot of small guns little 32's and 25's purse type guns and they can be very hard to shoot accurately. You can;t get the sights lined up. I might miss a whole person at 10 yards. You have to almost press the gun to their belly to be sure you don't miss.

Not alot of side arms right now. Several rifles but not the topic.

This is the headboard special.

I figure there is no need to let the feds know what I do or don't have by posting on a forum open to anyone.

I do like to keep certain things that I own private, so I don't necessarily disagree with this statement.

But....I absolutely do not think it a very good idea to post pictures where the serial numbers of your firearms are legible.

I think you are right about the serial numbers but no one give a sh!t really about what someone has or doesn't have. That kind of thinking is by people looking for some sense of self importance. I makes them feel important to think someone cares about them. When in reality no one even cares they exist. That is hard reality for many to face, just how truly insignificant them and their lives really are in the grand scheme of things.

They usually like conspiracies theories or anything that makes them feel a little more important. They want to know something no one else knows even if it is ridiculous it doesn't matter. Never confuse them with facts. It is kind of sad really. If you have something that is illegal though it would not be a good idea to advertise it.

I went back and did some editing just in case.
When I first posted I thought about it, I've even considered the dangers in posting pics online of anything, even pool cues.
I'm not sure what someone could do with my serial numbers, but it doesn't look good, so they are out.
Now I have to get the guy who captured my pics to do some editing as well.

I have to admit I just went back and brushed out the numbers that were visible on my picture and reposted it. I am not sure what someone could do with them but why show them when there is no need.
