thank you to CJ Wiley for teaching, learning, growing and sharing!

You are right, the TIP (Touch of Inside Pivot) is everything.....well, it can be anyway. :D

One thing that's almost "supernatural," is if you touch the actual tip by squeezing it in your bridge hand BEFORE you go down to shoot you will feel the cue ball more intensely.

This is a little "secret" to maximizing your touch and feel, especially under pressure.

I tried this last night and it really works.I don't know how it works, but by squeezing the tip and ferrule seemed to make me bear down

Glad you caught on to that, it's a "golden nugget" in competition

I know, it's uncanny isn't it......by the way, did I tell you not to share that "nugget" of knowledge with anyone? It's ok, the ones that aren't supposed to see it won't anyway. ;)

Glad you caught on to that, I usually only teach that one in private lessons - there's another part to this that I'll share with you next week.

Play Well, The Game is Our Teacher

pool players use their cue and specifically the tip to express to the outer world

It's "oil" alright, and if someone's serous about pool it may be an "essential oil".
essential_oil_1.jpg

Since we play the game with our cue's tip it's essential that we connect mentally and physically in a way that maximizes that connection. Our subconscious is a "master computer" that can process millions of bits of information, and this can be used to our advantage... it's our "conscious" mind's choice (this is where human nature comes in)

I learned this from studying a movement called "baguazhang" which was used by the Shaolin Kung Fu masters (and other martial artists) to increase their palm sensitivity to energy (think in terms of static electricity).

To make the cue ball do what we "think" takes practice and training, to make the cue ball do what we "feel" requires knowledge of how our minds process information and utilizes our muscular system to superbly perform a task.....some rare players do this naturally, many others would benefit from disciplines such as bagua.

"Pocket billiards is an "art form" - much like a martial artist uses sword, and staff to showcase their abilities, pool players use their cue and specifically the tip to express to the outer world what's happening within the inner world". - CJ Wiley

a Blessing to be involved on this forum and the best is yet to come.

My game isn't 100% (compared to 90's) however, it's a solid 95% now which is a pretty good sign. Some may say it's 97% considering I won my 5th tournament in a row last night.

The important thing is I'm absolutely enjoying the game and interacting with players and enthusiasts again. I have many people on AZ BILLIARDS to thank for this because it has to with all the participation in the last 14 months......I've made almost 8000 posts and interacted with tens of thousands of players by PM, FaceBook, YouTube, and Email.

Also the 'Touch of Inside', 'Billiards Inside Secrets' and 'TIP Banking Secrets were actually directed primarily at the AZBILLIARDS participants that wanted access to some of the more advanced methods used by myself and other road players I played and traveled with.

Overall it's been a Blessing to be involved on this forum and the best is yet to come. If all goes with well with my current project we'll be seeing pool on TV more in the next year than we have in quite some time. 'The Game is the Teacher'

I've heard a lot of people say negative things about how CJ's trying to milk everything he can out of pool since he's "washed up" now and that he contributes nothing but "the game is the teacher" or "TOI is the teacher" but I agree with YOU and not them.

Thank you for posting and everything you do on here CJ

Always a great supporter of the game.

The game IS the teacher.

And so is ziggystardust on here.

Ziggystardust is the real teacher.

I'd offer them a game they couldn't refuse.

Yeah, too bad none of my "critics" gamble, or I'd offer them a game they couldn't refuse.

I was lucky enough to win my 9th tournament in a row tonight AND hit the "Break and Run" contest for $1000. - my game's back to about 96-97%....I'm not sure what it's going to take to get back to 100% without consistent action.....maybe it's time for a 'road trip" ......anything happening in New Orleans?

CJ,
I'm not sure, but I think MANY people on this forum don't "real eyes" just how well you play TODAY!

I have made it a habit to watch as many of the professional players' matches as I can and I have seen some of yours, up close, and you still have a TOP-TOP, PROFESSIONAL GAME.

I am still amazed at the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth that goes on when you mention any of your techniques. It is even more amazing that you don't give your haters a tongue-lashing that they deserve. Credit to you for having great tolerance.

Thanks for staying around AZ Billiards. WE ARE BETTER PLAYERS BECAUSE OF YOU!

And yes, TOI does work and it works very well.

Yesterday it was 5 in a row, today it's 9 in a row. 4 tournaments in a day. Actually, in only 13 hours! wow! I'm impressed! Were there any other people besides you playing in them?

I know I sent you a PM and you were as nasty as could be, I forgot to say thanks !!!

You are persistent aren't you, maybe y'all should just agree to disagree

Gamble

If any of the knockers think CJ won't gamble give me a call and we'll be in your town with a satchel of cash to let you prove you are the better player. Of course, we all know you will not back up your critical comments about the ONLY real professional player who takes the time to help us improve our pool games.

waa, waa, waa. Your comment is like this-:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

The "only" real professional to help others? You have a lot to learn. Stop being so myopic in your view and you just might see a number of other pros doing much more to help others play better.;);)

Your "only real professional player to help" got caught with his pants down again. And here are his supporters ready to chime in on how he didn't really say that; didn't really mean what he actually said; have to read between the lines; too advanced for us mere mortals to understand; ect. ect. Any excuse but the obvious truth behind it all.

I'm craving a bowl of that gumbo I had a few months ago

Thanks, bud, sounds like Jackson didn't turn out so well, I'm trying to make it back down to New Orleans sometime soon......I still owe Joey a pool lesson and I'm craving a bowl of that gumbo I had a few months ago when I was gambling at Buffalo Billiards.

For what it's worth, I learned a little SECRET about "oil" from the best money player I ever saw in action. He was from Texas and I've written about him on here before. I knew him as "J. D. Tyler", he was also called "J. D. Taylor", and I've heard somebody say he was "Jack Taylor".

He was the first person who introduced me to Le Pro French tips, a 21 ounce cue, and a 14mm tip way back when I worked in a pool hall as a young teen. He was the first guy I saw using what is now called "TOI".

When he gave me the tip and I put it on the cue, he polished the edges of the tip with black shoe polish and then he put a drop of "sewing machine oil" on the top of the tip and let it soak in for a while before the cue was played with.

The oil will soften the tip up some and keep it from drying out. You have to make sure it is just a drop or less to keep from overdoing it.

Aloha.

September 6 is a $2,000 guaranteed ADDED tournament at Lacy's Cue, the brand new pool room in Chalmette, LA (Non-smoking) August 2 is the Breaker's Billiards Mobile, AL bar box tournament.

Need any more enticements?

JoeyA waiting.......

Just make sure you come early because I don't want my pool lesson to interfere with your tournament matches or mine. (In other words on a day other than the tournaments).
