Billy Incardona - Short Rant

to begin with, I AM asian, and I was first a bit offended when I read about the "ping pong" comment.........However, after seeing B.I.'s apology and explanation, I do accept it as an unintended slip that could be misunderstood.

You being Asian gives you no credibility at all as to whether or not Incardona made an offensive statement. It's simply your opinion as it relates to you.

Lenny,

You are overlooking one very important fact; If he wasn't Asian then Incardona wouldn't have made the same comment. He made the comment because of the player being Asian.

ONB

very possibly, he made the comment because he was having difficulty with the player's name and not because of the player's ethnicity.

I'm going to keep this real and apologize before hand in the event that I hurt some ones feelings.

Did I say something stupid when I referred to Pin as Ping and then without thinking added pong..yes.

Did I intentionally make that statement knowing it was bordering what some would misinterpret as a racial comment..Absolutely not.

Am I sorry that I made that comment..yes I am
, however, in no way was it directed as a racial slur and those who know me, and my track record as not only a commentator but also as a human being knows that I would never say that with under

tones of such.

I would like to apologize to first, any one that felt that what I said was one of a racist. I also would like to apologize to Mark Griffin and Justin Collet, two people that I hold in the highest regard for who they are and for what they stand for and accomplished. I would also like to add that I really appreciate all the people that supported me and their understanding on this highly controversial subject.
For what it's worth, I in no way am upset or angry with the people that accused me of making a racial comment, however, maybe a little dissapointed that they would imply that because if they truly knew me or my history they would know that that's not me. Sorta falls under the same line of thinking that all commenttors should know importnt facts about the players that are playing

If this doesn't satisfy the dissenters, nothing will.

Keep doing a great job Billy Incardona!

Old Nine Baller, I myself use to play 9ball and could be considered as an old nine baller, but we have another thing in common..we are both old and being old our memory fails us more often than when we were younger. My point is that you are 100% wrong when you said the reason zi made the comment was because Pin Yi is asian, however I previously stated that I was confused with remembering his name not as Pin but as Ping and I followed Ping up with Pong without thinking. That was ecactly what I was thinking and not thinking when I made my blunder, not because he was asianm if you read my post you would of understood thatwhich i'm assuming that you did re as d it but just forgot like I did when I forgot Pin's name and called him Ping. You see we both forget stuff. Unless you're absolutely sure what I was thinking, in spite of what I said on how I was thinking.

Again, I simply forgot his name, nothing more or less unless people try to make something more about it.

I don't give a flying f. about what you consider credible.....but I would bet you are white and have never been referred to as "Hop Sing", "One Hung Low", "Ching Chong" or any other clever racist slur.........Are you another one of those good ol boys from the good old 70's?

You always seem to be pretty cool with everybody. Most people know that, I think. Just keep being yourself.

You could very well be correct KC. I've oft times heard commentators refer to William Incardona as Billy Pong.

Mr Incardona,

No problem at all with you referring to Pin as Ping. An understandable mistake that anybody on Earth could make. You following up with "Pong" seems to have been the egregious error here.

As I wrote previously in this thread, I believe you had or have a black girlfriend and I've never considered you to be a racist but you also cannot make comments on livestreams of this nature. Surely you must understand that. You are a paid professional and you must conduct yourself as one.

this place has become a joke, bill incardona has to apologize to a bunch of keyboard warriors, then he does it anyway and you still have something to ***** about?you people are weak..the guy stood up like a man using his own name..i know some of you use your name but the rest of you pull up your skirts and stfu this should have been over the minute the man apologized.

As usual, you are absolutely right. I guess that using your logic Shane Van Boening stealing a ball from John Morra at the 2012 DCC Bankpool finals will be over the minute SVB makes an apology.

People please lighten up, Billy is a 100% class gentleman and he nor I would ever say anything to disrespect or hurt any ones feelings. It's easy to say something that people take wrong, comedians do it all the time.we're all pool players here right. Any thing he or I ever said was never meant to disrespect anyone believe me.

That was hilarious, and everyone knew it had nothing to do with Germany or France.

I see this as an honest "word association" mistake.

In North Carolina there was a pool player named "Peanut Bailey" - if Billy had been commentating one of his matches and accidently called him "Peanut Butter" is would have been funny.........really funny.

In 1996 Vincent Facquet, and Ralph Saquet were playing on the European team. Barry Hearn said "how can we win we have fu*% it and su*% it on our team"....LMAO!

That was hilarious, and everyone knew it had nothing to do with Germany or France.

'The Game is the Teacher'

I agree !!! But CJ time to just let it go, LOL.

KC,

Do you think you might give me time to read his reply and respond to it before you jump down my throat?

ONB

I wasn't jumping down your throat, just responding to your comment that was a few down from Billy's explanation to you.. Sorry if it appeared that way.

regardless, you still don't seem satisfied with Billy's explanation.

and I just saw on another thread you are now making comparison's of Billy to Howard Cossell and Jimmy The Greek.

I'll strap him down in the electric chair, you throw the switch.

Was it a mistake? Sure ....

Was it intentional? Highly doubt it

Was it racist? Sure, it could be perceived as such ...

Was it intentionally racist? Again, I highly doubt it.

In my opinion, it seems to me that it was more of a "spur of the moment" comment that was in error, but certainly not intentionally mean-spirited or racist.

How long has Billy I. been providing us with excellent pool commentary and sharing his thoughts and stories with us?

Look at the totality of the man's contributions versus this one instance and draw your own conclusions - as far as I'm concerned, apology offered - apology accepted, time to move on.

Harriman called me ''big foot'', Gabby called me Slim and having been called many names in life because of my Length and size of my feet, I always thought of it as a compliment. Would of hated to see old man Benny Conway NOT called the goose :).

McCready....Ether
Rempe....King James
Buddy....Rifleman
Lassiter....Wimpy
Morro....Mexican Jumping Bean

Get it???

Slip ups many times evolve and stick with the player, so be it. If life was perfect, it would be :boring2:
If ya want perfect, she lives up the street....her name is Christine and she just turned 60. :p
