Bumping rules are destroying sales - chime in...

No buyers and overpriced items are destroying sales. Listen guys if you aren't prepared to price drop , you aren't gonna sell. The economy sucks. There are a billion cues and a couple hundred thousand players that even care about cues.

So yeah if you haven't sold an item here in 2 weeks please price drop or put it on the shelf.
 
it works just fine.

If you wanna buy the cue, than make a comment. If you don't wanna buy the cue, why do you have to mention that it is a nice cue, he already owns it, he knows it's nice.

Or why mention that you own one and it hits the proverbial "ton"... he knows that also, he owns it.

That's the problem... if you wanna look at nice cues for sale, then look. I look at nice cars for sale ALL THE TIME, but I don't send comments to the owner every time I run across a nice one that I don't want to buy.....
 
Gun forums have a 48 hour bump rule. PM contact only to avoid the useless comment bump. Violation removes the thread. How difficult is that?

For what purpose? There is no need to comment it just creates clutter on the forum. No one is stopping you from sending a PM.
 
Another possibility is to have a "Classified Ads" section with no comments. One ad per person at a time. Ads expire after a week and then you could put up a new one. Cancel the ad if sold before a week. Paid ads could last longer and be larger.
 
Yep, like RJ and Mac said, its so easy. Just let the Seller do his own thing.

If you're interested, the best way is to PM the Seller.

When I decide to go looking, I will go back 20 pages if I want to. Its not a huge hassle.
Just a Click and yer on the next page.

Let the Seller do his own Bumping at 48 Hrs.

If people would adhere to a couple of simple no brainer rules, there would be no hassle.

If any of the Sellers are abusing the Rules of the Forum, let the Mods deal with them.

A couple of Warnings and they can ban you from Selling for 2 weeks or a month.

Sellers will toe the line if that happens to them once.

I like the idea of a nominal fee for Sellers that sell more than one cue on occasion.

$5 or $10 a month if you're a dealer.

That might be a stretch, but you must consider that people who cut in line in front of you don't care about any of people that is behind them.............................................

There some people who will always work the system and have no problems stepping on any ones toes. Because of this Everyone must pay for there actions.

Bingo. Most of the time it is members who know the rules and not newbies. They just don't care about anyone else. It is nothing more than pure selfishness.

I completely agree, Bob.

I've mentioned the same thing to several of my friends and not one of them had anything bad to say about it.

I say make them all classified ads, and even a small one should cost something. Of course, bigger ones, or ones that last for longer times would cost more. There could be an advanced selling type of membership that included the smaller type ads for no charge.

There should be zero communication about the sale in the forums. All communications should be between the seller and the buyer. All financial transactions should be either required or at least recommended to go through a current internet payment service such as paypal. I'm sure AZ could find a way to remove themselves from liability. If all they do is sell ad space, then the only thing they are liable for is providing the space and the associated fees.

Or, you could just do away with it all together.

I like the idea of comments not bumping the threads. Only the seller should be able to bump the sale and only for a limited amount of time. I see cues getting bumped that are 6 months old or older, if the cue did not sell there is something wrong with the cue or the price, why bump it? If a seller has multiple cues to sell put them all in 1 ad, sometimes you see half a dozen cues on the first page all by the same seller. Maybe they need to break up the FS section by cue dealers and private sellers, the private seller maybe only advertising 1 or 2 cues a year, any more than that and you get moved to cue dealer section. I know this stuff is probably easier to talk about than actually implement but this affects sellers and buyers. I have bought a couple of used cues in the last 2 years but a lot of times I get tired of sifting thru the same cues/sellers so I stay away for a while and this hurts the sellers if others do what I do.

The bumping rule is an attempt to not have it be destroyed. How does having your ad completely shoved off the front page in an hour before anyone even gets to see it help you sell more cues?
 
How about page 5 or 6 in a couple hours . About the 48 hr. rule , we are not all treated the same , some can still bump as much as they want , and It could not be explained why when I asked . . Jim

I like the new rules being enforced. No more "awesome cue bro, this one will go fast. Great seller here, wish I had the money." Then three posts later: "Can't believe this one is still for sale. This guy is practically giving it away!"

Seeing the same group of people bump each other's posts as a way of scratching each others' backs gets really old.
 
It would be very nice of it could have groups to post in like:
$199 and under stuff
$201-$499 stuff
$500-$999
$1K-$1999 etc.

I don't know what those price ranges should be but customs and production cues don't need to be separated.

Maybe a trade-barter section???

Anyhow, just my thoughts. I don't mind the 48 hour rule as it gives everyone some time at or near the top.
