JB's AZB

Brian, you seem like a cool guy and though I don't recall you asking to "roll it back" I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. However, if you said it, you must have said it in a manner that was obviously humorous and not to be taken seriously, or perhaps you posed it as hypothetical. Certainly you did not show me any money.

And as I have said previously, it is pretty strange for this to be coming out for the first time four months after the match.

So yes, between John's money which we had just won, and the money we brought to the match, hangin' around an unfamiliar New Jersey pool room didn't strike any of us as the brightest of ideas, so we did make a relatively quick departure.

My recollection after the match is also that no one in John's camp was in the mood to go again and if you look at the following picture, with you at the center, it's pretty obvious John was done or the picture we'd be discussing would be the one with John, pool cue together and in hand and a coin in the other, getting in my face.

Lastly, I asked my partner, Mike, what his recollection is and his follows.

Dear Brian

With all due respect I never heard you say you wanted to back John for 10K. Because if you had and I heard it I would have said "Flip it." I don't believe it was seriously offered at all. You had a chance to say something to me about it when we were talking to Ed about his restaurant and you didn't. I tried to bet 25K at the beginning of the match. I tried to double the bet during the match and got turned down. There were at least 20 people there trying to get money down on Lou and no one there, including you, who would take the bet. So if you said you were there to bet 10k on John nobody but you and John heard it or perhaps some half-baked reference was made that didn't sound like a serious statement because we would have a direct call to play right then and there.

If you want to bet 10k on John now. Or 20K. Or 30K bring it to St. Louis in the next 30 days and you can get that money in action, if John shows up. I felt cheated when John didn't take the bets he said he would take, so the idea that I wouldn't take your money on a bet on John is silly. That was the surest bet I've ever made in 50 years. So come to St. Louis now that you're saying you offered 10K on John after the fact. Because I obviously missed your request the first time. I want to make sure you get what you wanted.

Michael LaLumiere

Looks like I'm being dragged into the middle of this shit storm but I def don't want to spend all my time going back and forth and, so, I'll try and keep this simple and straight forward..

My staking players in games where there is a fair amount of money riding isn't a new hobby. I don't do it every weekend but I do it and people are aware of it.

I came to Sandcastle that night to enjoy the competition, it was kinda historic from an az perspective, right?

yes, I did come prepared to back JB if Lou won and wanted to flip it. It was in the bag I brought over to where I met you guys and did the ribbing.

After the match, some photos, and congrats, I came over and absolutely did ask if you wanted to roll it back and you absolutely said you would need a little time to think about it. No problem. Then we also talked about grabbing a bite to eat and I figured we might close it up over dinner. As I previously stated, you guys scrammed with the cash you had and, again, I don't blame you for that, being in unfamiliar territory, and all.

If you really don't recall my offer then you were probably still under the influence of your win and all the activity swirling around you.

Regarding why this has never come up since the match 4 months ago, I can only say from my end, this:

I saw no purpose to bring it up again since the offer was basically declined when you left and the next morning you were making your way back home and that was that...

and

I thought for sure JB was gonna do his match report just like you did and it, without a doubt, would have had included this.

@ Mike L. hi Mike, it was nice to meet you there. Yes, we did go up and discuss some biz ideas with Ed and there would have been no point in my asking you about flipping money then since your horse hadn't won yet. I waited til it was over, then asked Lou, it prob didn't sink in with all the commotion around him (I'm guessing).

I won't be interested to come to St. Louis but thanks for the invite. :)

best,
brian kc

I will bet that 80% of the members here would shake like a dog sh--ting peach seeds if they even thought of posting half of that on a match

Billy,

Think you're short about 19%. My guess is 99% of the posters here at AZ would crap in their pants over $1000 let alone $10,000. I give both John and Lou kudos for their play under pressure. Shame the personal side of this match appears to be more exciting than the match itself!

PS Yes I looked in the mirror.

Dear Michael,

I offered to double the bet three times before the match with the stipulation that ALL money be posted before the match and you didn't even acknowledge the offers.

So why should you feel "cheated" because I wouldn't dance to your "offer" days before the match?

You should have called me when you had the opportunity. You're very lucky that I even played at all after seeing that it was you and after the stunt Eric pulled threatening me with a pool ball. I should have let you spend all that money coming and flipped you the 3k as a tip.

Instead I bet my own, no backers.

I am in China right now but some time in the near future you will get another chance to bet much more. I am confident you don't have the stones to go again.

If you want to make a date and Brian is willing then we can certainly go again. This time it will be an ahead set and only me and Lou in a room with a pool table. Everyone else can watch it on the stream.

I don't need Brian's money but if he is willing to go in with me then he is 100% welcome.

And, this is why everyone know John Barton as a chronic, habitual twister of the truth.

The part you left out is that I was playing kn my table for two hours prior, nvr said a word to you or looked jn your direction. The incident was instigated by you, when you decided to start barking at me 30 minutes prior to your match. What were you thinking?!

I must not have thought you were making a serious offer for an immediate rematch. And there was a lot going on immediately after the match to include the steady stream of texts I was getting and trying to respond to. Also, up until now, I was unaware of your background as a stake horse. If I had know that I certainly would have paid more attention.

I'm apologize for not taking you seriously. I'm sure that if I knew you liked to stake players I would have talked it over with Mike we would have gone again.

I was in the main room when all this started and John was clearly the instigator. He kept barking at Eric to play and wouldn't let up. It was almost as if he wanted to start a fight.

So, Eric, what happen with the video you were shooting? I think I took a break and when I came back you were gone.

Please....I didn't cause you to threaten me with a weapon.

Try that nonsense on someone else.

Aren't you supposed to be a high valued stockbroker who handles billions daily?

You're going to tell us all that because I asked you to play a warm up set for a thousand you felt compelled to walk over to my table with a pool ball in your hand and get in my face and "dare" me to say another word?

This after you just said loudly that you came to see me get goat screwed.

Then after you didn't follow through on your threat you threw the ball as you walked away.

You're the same guy who carried on a long running internet feud with a senior citizen whom you later assaulted at the SBE. After that assault you were banned for life and a number of us went to bat for you, including me to get you reinstated. Which you were.

I could go on listing the various ways you have threatened me and my family with physical and financial harm. Not once have you actually done anything but standing there with a pool ball was pretty silly.

I suppose when I am 60 I can expect you to go ahead and get physical.

Got any more deflections? You could always just stop repeatedly poking people with a stick trying to get reactions and then playing the victim. "Mommy he yelled at me, and I didn't do anything!!! Waaaaaaaaah."

Um, try again. #1 eric had zero business being there in the first place. #2. ALL antagonism has stemmed from him between us. ALL OF IT.

Why don't you say the same thing to Eric? I didn't poke him with a stick, that would have been a real physical act. I asked him to play pool for money.

So why don't you admonish him?

Instead you enable him as if he is somehow justified in threatening me with a weapon.

The conversation went like this.

John: 'Eric you want to play a quick warm up set for a $1000?'

Eric: 'No I am here to watch a good old fashioned goat (screwing).'

John: 'we can just play for $500 then'.

Eric walks over and threatens me with violence. Now, I shouldn't have engaged that "person" at all. That much is clear. But nothing I said to him was in any way cause for him to walk across the room and threaten me.

Period.

But what he said when he stood in front of me was truly funny and I couldn't help but laugh.

He said, "I double-dog dare you to say another word". I laughed at him and asked if he was in third grade.

Which might have been actually giving him credit for an extra few grades.

I am quite shocked... Brian I didn't think you liked to throw money around. I mean after that match if you were so willing to give that away, you could have found many takers I am sure. Or at least if you're that willing to bet on a horse that has already been shot, jeez put the cash in a trash can and burn it and enjoy the warmth for a little bit...

I give you immense props for bringing it... :bow-down:

Its a public pool hall you nit.

No it hasn't all been him.. you called him out many times and he obliged. In fact I think you called his place of work and tried to get him in hot water or some other garbage like that... if I was him, I wouldn't have been so reserved.

Fabrication of the highest order...

I never called his workplace. He owns his own business in Jersey. You should already know that. Claims he is a bigshot Wall Street guy with the power to get anyone a job on the Street.

But he did threaten to call the Chinese authorities on me and have my "papers" checked. Would you like to see the email?

Yeah it's a public pool hall. So what? If a person knows that their presence is provocative then showing up is antagonistic. Even so all I said to Wall Street was let's play some....nothing that warranted being threatened with a weapon.

Surely the teeney amount of brainpower you have to use can comprehend that.

What, does John Barton own a piece of AZB too? Enough of this crap. It's really getting very old. Johnnyt

I don't have a problem with JB's posts. I just get annoyed when members who run businesses don't just but advertising space on this forum. After a while it seems like SPAM. If he isn't I'd consider that mooching, and if he already is, why have the marketing sigs?

Absolutely because I intend to be provocative and antagonistic to you until you die.

Both you and Eric are the kind of people that the world would be better off without and if either of you dies before me I will throw a real party to celebrate the occasion.

I put in a whole lot of cases to the cause, does that count?
