CSI has just released its “Ten Questions” interview series on the CSI YouTube channel. During the 2014 CSI Invitational Championships, all sixteen of the invited professional players were asked the same ten questions. The first eight videos have been posted and the final eight will be posted soon.

The series was created by CSI Media Manager Justin Collett, JP Parmentier, and Andy Chen during the 2014 CSI Invitational Championships in Las Vegas, NV. The concept provides fans an insight that they don’t normally get along with many interesting contrasts and comparisons.

The project was professionally lit and shot by videographer, Andy Chen.

Please visit the CSI YouTube channel to view the first eight interviews of this new series.

My favorite responses:

Most players said their favorite pool player was Efren. Efren said his favorite was Mike Sigel. Sigel was also Bustamante's favorite player.
Bustamante's greatest weakness? His break. His greatest strength? His break.
Efren's greatest regret: Not sleeping enough.
Most common least favorite game: One pocket. Darren Appleton's favorite game: One pocket.
I think they all said poor sportsmanship is what they dislike the most in pool players.
Mike Dechaine's favorite qualities in a pool player? Two: European and Filipino. :D

Great stuff here. As always, CSI taking things to the next level in our sport.

Darren's was short a question. He didn't say what his least favorite game is.

Yeah there were one or two interviews out of the sixteen where a question got missed. These were shot on the fly as we could grab guys before or after matches.

I would like you to answer the same questions, Justin.
This is not a challenge, I just appreciate your viewson this game.

I am very proud of the work Andy Chen, JP Parmentier and I did on this series. It was basically a passion project for all of us. We knew we had a rare opportunity with all these players in one place for this length of time so we wanted to do something that would could be used a reference over time.

JP came up with the format as its something he had been thinking about for years. We all put our heads together on the questions and Andy did most of the heavy lifting on the production and editing end. It was a lot of extra work at an all ready busy event but the end result is something I hope will be looked at for a long time as glimpse inside the mind of some of the best to ever play the game.

The full effect of the series only comes when you watch multiple interviews and compare and contrast players answers. In the series you have champions from cultures and backgrounds literally all over the world and from different age groups.

I hope people enjoy the series. We had a lot of fun making it.

Thanks.

We had the the thought of using the questions over time as a baseline for people from all over the game. JP came up with idea from the Actors Studios interviews. There is more to it and maybe he can drop in and explain it. The end result though are ten questions which I think give a pretty good look at how someone views the game and a little of they view life as well.

At some point I probably will do the questions. They are pretty fun.

nice

Thanks to CSI for these very interesting interviews....
Especially interesting that both Efren and Francisco admire Mike Sigel, a great player from the past that really wasn't very active at tournament competition in the last 20 years or so..

Will look forward to the next 8.....

I've only had a chance to watch a couple of the videos but they were excellent. I don't think I've seen anything quite like that in pool before. I always find that kind of stuff fascinating and pool needs more of it.

Outstanding works CSI Team. John M's interview is absolutely a stand out. This series has legs.

I agree. John was very candid in his interview and showed that he is a smart young man who is not afraid to recognize his faults and improve them. One of my favorites of the bunch.

Truly Awesome

I didn't get much done this morning from watching these, and the Podcast.

Truly Awesome!

Anyone that you know that plays pool should watch these, great motivators. Definitely something positive in the world of pool

A good series of interviews. I watched all of them, and it was well produced.

I liked the format of asking the same questions of each professional. I felt like you got to know a little bit about the personality of the player.

I found it interesting that the trait they least admired in a player was poor sportsmanship, and acting poorly during a match.

Thanks to CSI.

The first question to all the Players should have been:

What do you think about Shane being put back into the box against KO after being eliminated?

Sorry I could not resist

Good stuff guys.
Good stuff.
This is exactly the kind of thing that people will look back on 100 years from now, and cherish the fact that someone took the time to do it.
How cool would it be if we had something like this from 1914...

I know they probably do not want to deal with him, but this would be amazing with Earl.
