World Cup of Pool 2014(Portsmouth, UK) 23-28Sep (9ball Scotch Doubles) Winner $60K

How strong is that...

wow china puts up a two pack, then when up 4-0 england gets a chance, gets an unlucky roll, makes a great kick safe and China comes back and kicks it in and runs out to take it to 5-0...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say China will be in the finals, if they don't win the whole thing.

Another break n run...

China gets another break n run to get on the hill to nil...

China must be reckoned one of the most likely to win the event after this dominating effort. Very impressed with both Jinhu Dang and Wang Can.

Amusingly, the announcers made the third seeded Chinese team seem like a cinderella story that just appeared on the radar. This was most definitely no upset.

Yes, that was comical as somehow we should believe a 3 seed is a Cinderella.

Wtf!

There is something very wrong with the way China payed today. That whole this game is easy lets run out thing is a sign that their parents never taught them to share as children. I for one feel bad for team china... I hope someday they can learn to share.

Yeah. Playing that well was truly selfish. What were they thinking?

I wish they would play more matches per day and not drag this out.

Anyone with Saturday's schedule?

I thought the same thing and was surprised when he hit it the way he did. Assuming he knows more than me, :p, I have to think it was just too far to try to throw the ball.

That being said....what exactly was he trying to do? Play safe by locking him to the back side of the 6 ball?

He was trying to make the ball. That was pretty obvious from his reaction. It looked to me like they were frozen. Otherwise I doubt he would have attempted the shot. He just hit it wrong and he might be the first to admit it. We see things a lot differently from the sidelines, and we never miss from here!

I have to disagree Jay...

I don't think the 8 ball could have been made even if he hit the 6 on the left side. I don't believe the 6 would catch enough of the 8 to throw it into the pocket.

I was surprised to see Ralf even attempt the shot as opposed to playing a safety.

They had to be frozen, that's why Ralf attempted the shot.

Did you see the six-eight combo Ralf missed a couple of games earlier. The eight needed to be thrown in, but not by using English. Ralf needed to hit the left side of the six to throw the eight into the pocket. How he didn't know that is beyond me. That's Pool 101!

I agree Jay, i couldn't believe he didn't play the shot properly, in snooker we called that a squeeze plant..

I have to agree with Jay, that shot was easy to make. You can make that ball go an inch the other way, we call it a squeeze plant in snooker. Stick 2 balls together and practice it, you hit the opposite side to make it go the other way.

One of the announcers hasn't a clue about which team is strong and which team is not. He is going by what he overhears and who he personally favors. Right now China and Finland have been the most impressive teams. I also have to like Holland and England A because they have Niels and Darren respectively.

This may surprise all of you that think I favor the Filipino players. I DON'T like Dennis and Lee Vann's chances from here. They have not played well as a team so far. They both look a little tight to me.

Team Phillipine's break is way too suspect with this setup. Shot making is way off to what we are accustomed to seeing from them too.

Team China super impressive. The team to beat right now.

I was going to post about the Phillipines team win yesterday and put is it ominous to the rest that they are playing so bad and winning or will their luck run out.. I like Finland and the Chinese, but do the Germans have their name already written on the trophy? like the world cup (football) they should of lost to Algeria, like Germany should of been out today, but for John's miss on the 8..
