I am sick, car broken into!!!!!!!

Absolutely Correct ...

When In the car, my cues stay in the trunk. Most thieves won't bother breaking into a car if they can't see a target. Out of sight...out of mind. I know how I would feel if mine were stolen. I spent more time with them then I did the wife!

Recently, a local resident left two Laptops on the front seat of her car overnight.
Next morning, broken window and stolen laptops.
NEVER leave Anything of Value in plain sight. It'scan Invitation.

Personal property is not covered under auto policies if unrelated to the vehicle. Thus, aftermarket wheels, stereos, etc would be covered if they were installed on the car at the time.

But personal property like cues, golf clubs, softball equip, laptops, even purses and xmas presents are NOT covered. He would have to go under his homeowners policy or hope he has a really good renters policy. Then minus the deductible of course...

Comp coverage is in case your vehicle is stolen, vandalized, hit an animal, rocks break your window, or burns up while parked somewhere, etc.

I collected under my homeowners. They even covered cash stolen up to $300.00. I had a money bag taken with like $2500.00 in it but getting the $300.00 was a nice surprise.

I was at a tournament in Worthington, MN during January around 1990. During a match, I noticed that my coat was no longer on the stool next to the table that I was playing on. I was lucky that my cue wasn't taken earlier in the day. I opened my case for a different match and the cue was not in it. I went into another large dining area where I was playing about an hour earlier and spotted the cue propped up in a chair.

The temperature was -20 and it seemed like it took forever for the car to warm up.

I keep a closer eye on the cue since then, but have been guilty of leaving it visible in the car. That will change. I started putting my cue case, coat or jacket under the table in tournaments also.

So lets say the mall has camera's and they were pointed toward your car and the image was clear and you were allowed to view them. I get the feeling you would say, "Hey, I know that guy"

29 years in the police business makes me write that.

So if the window or door of the car was damaged in order to steal the contents the damage to the car would be on the comp as vandalism, but the contents are on homeowners?

Good to know I'm renewing my homeowners this month and need to play out the scenarios to decide the coverage.

Few yrs ago I had to collect on my homeowners insurance , I forgot the take the cues out of the car , and it was not locked . couple of my customs and a R-6 Schon . GL Jim

Robert Grim in Maryland........

Just got a call from one of my friends.

His cue and case was just stolen last week in a bar in Maryland.

It's on video and the guy that stole it was Robert Grim.

Hope you enjoy it Robert 'cause you will be famous in the future.

Correct. They will pay for damages to the car, that's it. Your personal propery would be a sep claim against homeowners. Your homeowners covers your stuff when it is stolen from your house, car, at the pool room, or at the beach, etc.

That sucks Ron. We all hate thieves around here. Not saying that the story isn't true because there have been a few scammers around here that have tried in the past.

How'd they get in?

I feel bad for you, being on a fixed income. If someone wants to get you a half decent break cue, I am good for a donation. No questions asked beyond this thread. I will take a chance.

My cues always go under the rear seat of my truck, regardless of where or what I am doing.

Yep, and even then, a person will get the short end of the stick, no pun intended there. Unless you have as low a deductible such as 100 dollars, yer pretty much screwed.

Feel bad for you but dude it aint nuthin. I just got to my fla apt and i have a mold problem - -anyway rt now it looks like it will be close to 20 k w rugs, new carpet, beds leather 3 pc lr set plus much more needing to be tossed in garbage and then the remedial costs. A brutal shock to arrive to.

I only went into the store for a couple minutes when I got back my 4 spear point ebony Joss player and my break cue and vintage 2x2 instroke case was gone. It happened in a strip mall and will know in a couple days if there cameras were working. I filed a police report but were not very encouraging. This really makes me sick.xxxxxxxx.
I have an other player but now I have to find an affordable break cue. I am retired and fixed income does not allow for spending very many $$$
This works......
#1 As they all say...put stuff in trunk
#2 Make one of these out of a shoebox and simply lay it on the front seat.
(Don't poo-poo this one.)
I have left the windows down in the car at a parking lot and watched with binoculars from a distance. The looks on the faces of various people casing the car are something to behold.

If you hit the pawn shops you're to need to provide some proof that its your cue or they're going to tell you to pound sand. Simply stating that something is yours isn't going to work.

I have a slip of paper with my name on it tucked under the bumper.... Might help if the pawnshop has it ..( if not found by the crook)

* wish I had started this crap earlier *

Yep, and that cue will certainly disappear.

Padding an Insurance claim is not an El Grande idea, yet, if one has ever had the opportunity to deal with an Insurance Company for a large claim, fer an instance, a B&E, if you ever find yourself in the same position at a later date, you may think again.

You set yourself up for not receiving any insurance plus a Fraud charge. Yet, they almost train you to think that way.

I had my home broken into twice. The second time around was the day of my Brothers Funeral, which made it even more of an experience.

By the time they subtracted my deductible and devalued all of the missing items by certain percentages, I was the one seriously in the hole.

Well, I only have one spare Breaker. If anyone has a used spare, a J&J 3 piece or whatever. I have no idea of what they are worth new, send it to the guy and I will Pay Pal you up to 80 bucks, shipping included.

The best I can do because I am in a rather good mood today. Leave it for a day or so and I may turn into a Grump again.

Thanks guys for the offer but I have other cues and can trade fora break cue. The break cue they stole was not very good and I had intended on replacing it but my custom Joss and vintage Instroke case to me were of great value and I really miss them.
Thanks guys for offering to help I really appreciate it but I will be fine and suck up to my loss.

Where was it taken from? I know it was in your car but what about city and state info.

Speaking of thieves I worked at a place once where somebody was stealing other people's lunches.

One day after lunch a guy got extremely sick. The guy was vomiting and looked terrible, had to leave work and missed a couple days.

The problem with people's lunches being stolen ended after that.
