I'm back..and I'm pissed !

Look at the other players who are listed as pro players. CJ is really the only one that is not out there competing in pro events right now. And CJ has definitely earned the title based on past performance.

In all honesty, a simple request from Dick (like other players have done) would have been more than enough.

The "how dare you ban me, do you know who I am?" approach isn't going to do it for me though.

I gotta ask....why did you make the comment about you never seeing him hit a ball? You said all he had to do was ask, so you had to know that he was a Pro in the past.

Because when I see a pro player and know they are members, I remember that I need to set up that title for them.

I have never seen Dick play, so the thought never crossed my mind.

Believe it or not, whether Dick is insulted that I didn't list him as a pro player is not a big priority on my list.

San Jose Dick at one time was the best player in Arizona and one of the top one pocket players in the country. He is in the one pocket hall of fame because he played just under by a ball or so to Ronnie Allen. In his day there weren't many tournaments but you can see an Accu-Stats video of him beating Cliff Joyner in a major one pocket event, Cliff in his prime and Dick in his 60's. Definitely worthy of the Pro Player tag without question but not everyone knows the old time guys like him. Here are some videos to get you guys up to speed if you get bored.

P.S. Spoiler Alert! Dick did beat Cliff Joyner in that Accu-Stats match btw.

My friend here in Hawaii beat Earl Strickland in one-pocket at the last DCC. Is he a Pro?

An acquaintance of mine also beat Earl in a tourney in Calgary some time ago.

He isn't a member here and I assume neither is your Friend. So that kind of puts both out of the running.

Lots have beat Earl at one time or another. Most likely by accident.

Terry, do you know the guy's name who beat Earl in Calgary?
I think I saw that match...and Earl treated him with respect....
..if he could see the ball, he knocked it in...Earl actually liked him.

I think he was Native from Northern Saskatchewan.

"Jersey Red" - he really was a funny Hall of Fame one pocket player

If he's so pissed off, why did he come back?

Like "Jersey Red" used to say "it's better to be pissed off than pissed on".

I miss my friend "Jersey" he really was a funny Hall of Fame one pocket player. ;)

With all due respect, I've been going to pro events for roughly 10 years, and I have never seen you hit a ball. I have been covering pool in Arizona for even longer and I have never seen you hit a ball.

And as an FYI, even some of the pros on the site have asked for the "pro player" tag.

Mike,

With all due respect, thank you for singling me out for your last several posts, and making me feel welcome...Lets see, 10 years ago, would have put me at 70, so nope, sorry I was not chasing tournaments at that time.

However, had you ever ventured to the west side of town, You could have seen myself, Ronnie, Jack Cooney, Gabe Owen, Scott Frost, Richie R., and many others, going at it for some serious coin !..I stayed pretty active, at $$$ matches, and I played anyone who came through the door, (at my home room the Golden Cue) well into my late 60's early 70's, as ANY Phx. resident will readily attest to !

Sorry you didn't have your ear to the ground, or you may have gotten to see me in action. (you did live in the area then, didn't you ?) Also sorry CJ did not drop around either..He came to town several times, but he ALSO stayed on the far east side..However, he DID have his ear to the ground, and knew he could have gotten action, as all the above player's did, at EVEN one pocket. He prefers to act as if he didn't know of me..If he had ever bothered to crack open "Shots, Moves and Strategies"..(he probably won't, because he's not in it)..he would have seen that "Jersey Red", Mike Massey, Beanie and I were all very close friends !

I would not except a "PRO" banner now, if you begged me to. (not likely, even though some suggested it)...I hope you don't prefer the word of Mr. 3Cushion, the most despised forum-addict/billiard player on the planet... He has been barred out of every pool room he ever went to more than twice !..His profane insults earned him a ban @ 1P.org too !..BTW, my ban was for responding to him, WITHOUT the gutter language !

Hope this doesn't qualify as being "beligerent", as I certainly would not want to offend your sense of fair play...I do enjoy the forum, and mixing with some of my old friends..I was really not aware of your negative attitude towards me..but you've made it quite clear now !.. Thanks for your reply(s)!

Fabian Lewison, Paul.

Not northern. From a Rez north of Regina. I think if you Google his name+Earl Strickland+pool+Calgary, that article may still be available.

You saw that one. What a small World Eh.

BTW, Fabian has a Face Book page which is open, so you can visit it.

He played in a large Snooker tourney a year or 2 ago in Bulgaria. He didn't fare that well. I can't remember exactly but he may have played a bit in Toronto, which got him there. Memory is faded a bit on that one.

Did you ever get the chance to play UJ Puckett when you lived in Ft. Worth Texas?

CJ, do you ever bother to read, or remember anything that doesn't pertain to YOU ?..Alfie Taylor and I, have talked extensively on here, about my first coming to Dallas...But, to answer your question, YES...UJ was my first victim !...Alfie and Jack, and Jack Terry were staking him ! (you do have Alfies phone #, don't you ?) Alfie and I are still in close touch, 50 yrs. later !

We all eventually became good friends later on, and UJ steered me into some good scores around Texas...Sorry I forgot, you were still in grade school at the time, but I keep thinking something you read, may have stuck in your mind ! Let me say, I do enjoy your pictures of some of the old guy's, and you !..I must ask though, you have so MANY pics, and many were taken long before cellphones had cameras in them ???....Did you hire a professional photographer, to follow you around, and only shoot you from your 'good side' ? LOL ;)

SJD

PS..The play with UJ, is clearly outlined in SMAS ! (pg 33) Jersey Red also speaks well of me. (pg. 299)
Take a peek in there, you'll get to know me better..then you can stop trying to pry my 'beat list' out of me,..one player at a time !

SJD,
I think it would do you some good to meet up with CJ for some one pocket and a bottle of Yukon Jack. It might help you with your anger.

SJD is an older person(in age) and I think when you get older, you lose the little filter that connects your brain and mouth and you just let things out! I honestly don't think he is "angry", he just doesn't give a flying funk what anybody thinks!

He's been there, done that kinda attitude gives him that type of confidence to speak his mind!

I've been accused of the same, and I have a feeling SJD feels the same as I do! He don't give a funk what people think! As long as he feels as though he spoke his mind, that is all that matters!

We live this life and most of us a very cautious on what we let people hear as opposed to what is truly in our thoughts! We are all heading in the same direction since the day our mother gave birth to us, and we are all heading in the same direction! Although the paths are usually different, the door we close behind us and hoping there will be another door to open will be the same for all of us in the end of our journey here!

Why should we close that door feeling bad about the things we "should" of said! Why not just say it! When I close that door behind me, the only thought in my mind will be what's behind door #2???

One life, no regrets!! That is the teacher!!

Good day to all:)

Good day to all:)

You may find that there is more than what you refer to as door #2.

You may find that there are 2 doors but each of us will only be able to open 1 of them & we all may not be allowed to open the same door.

The door each of us may be allowed to open may well depend on what we did & did not do on the other side of your door #1.

Just possibly food for thought.

Some don't consider that there might be 2 doors & act like since there is only one, I can do whatever 'the hell' I want.

Again, just some food for thought.

Best 2 Ya,
Rick

PS I do not believe in an eternal 'hell' of suffering, But I do believe there will be 2 doors & not just your door #2.
