Some thoughts on Chris Bartram

At one time Chris vowed not to play him because of that. They must have had a deal to not talk, because Hennessey was pretty good throughout the match. Toward the end he didn't like the rack Bartram was making. They were using a template so I don't know what's not to like. Chris handled it well - didn't bother him at all.

I won't be playing him again
To many moves for me

The match was a little slow...but Bartrum was like a python with a rat in his space. Chris out pocketed..out safed and out broke Hennessey. The earlier comment in this thread saying that if the pockets were tighter...Henny might of done better is complete nonsense.

Chris- Were you suprised Henny conceded so many games without making you shoot the 10 ball?

That's what I was surprised about. If I'm playing on someone else's money I'm not giving my opponent anything. 2,3,& 4 balls left on the table and conceding....no way.

oh yeah

Good stuff Chris

Chris is the kind of player that the MC team needs.... fearless pressure players with some class about 'em.... nothing against tournament grinders but there is more to USA pool than a cumulative points total of tournament finishes; not unlike the poker world where the cash table is a different animal altogether from the tourny.

That said, maybe an invitational tourny of several "cash table" guys with a MC spot on the line would get some juices going.... it would be oh-so-American to have a horse's horse in the mix. Every region has a closet killer, let's get them together for a red, white and blue reason.

I dream, I dream.... but I like it.... now back to the Beam

I think one of Chris' biggest strengths is game selection. He seems to know how to match up really well to the point where I don't think he'll always win, but he's never a huge underdog.

Henny are you ok, will you tell us that youre ok

Henny are you ok... are you ok... are you ok Henny
Henny are you ok... are you ok... are you ok Henny
Henny are you ok... are you ok... are you ok Henny
You've been hit by, you've been sttuck by
A SMOOTH CRIMINAL!

Chris, congrats on your win. Curious if you're gonna fire your winnings at Dennis with the 7 and 8, like you normally do. Seems like you're playing well enough.

Quit winner 4 hours early? God this game is in the crapper.

Congrats Chris. You are a throwback to the good old days. Too bad you weren't around when I was staking.

Keep it up.

It was real shitty what Orcullo did too.... He lost the first set getting staked by Stakehorse #1 loses and would be on the payback to play another set. A few days later he plays again with new Stakehorse #2 wins the first set 4 hours before the time limit and won't play another set, pockets his part of the stake and is done.

The only way this even sounds near okay to do is if Stakehorse #1 declined to bet on set 2. To lose someone else's cash though and not get back down with them is pretty damn dirty IMO. Who the hell can you trust these days?

I kept my list much shorter, KC
......of people I WOULD back.

First consideration....they had to be honorable
Second...they must never give up

I had friends who would ask me why I would back a cue breaker or one who dogs it....
...I told them they break cues and dog it because they CARE.

You don' have to do that to care.
I care and play hard
Never broke a cue .

The earlier comment in this thread saying that if the pockets were tighter...Henny might of done better is complete nonsense.

The reason why I said it was because Chris was out breaking him. Tight pockets help even out a superior break. What I was saying was that Hennessee had no chance on this table (which everybody could see) but maybe had a chance on a tight table. This is just, of course, an opinion. You might be surprised to find out how much the table choice makes a difference in a relatively even match.
