I started my morning as usual, brewed some coffee, poured a cup and made my way to my office and fired up the computer to read what's happening on az.

The first thing that caught my eye was that a 2 year old thread started by Kevin to do with Ernie's 50th anniversary Ginas had been bumped by branpureza who just visited with Ernie and friends in LA.

As I began reading this thread with great interest it dawned on me that under Kvinbrwr was a silver membership bar. It doesn't look right. :(

This is the man who spearheaded the campaign asking us to for donations to buy Fatboy, of all people, a Gold membership. :) I even pitched in. ;)

So, like time never stops for no man, apparently Gold membership clocks keep ticking, as well, and do expire.

Unfortunately, we can't get our dear friend Kevin back but I think we can get his Gold membership status back. :thumbup:

Looks like while I'm at it I better renew mine. :o

In honor of his style we should try to get a larger number of small donations so let's say max $5 donations per person, and I'm not even sure how much the Gold is, maybe $30 $40?

Someone pls let me know how much the gold membership is so we'll know how many 6 - 7 - maybe 8 donations it will take to turn him back to Gold. :wink:

I'll do the first $5 and anyone else interested can post here or pm me for my paypal and we'll get this done.

I hope it'll be done in time for him to be eligible for the May Giveaway. :grin-square:

Maybe the mods would make a policy of once you are gold posthumous, it never expires.

I like this idea and will ask the mods - maybe if you die gold, you can be allowed to stay that way.

I know Kevin would love to stay golden. :)

and I will contact with paypal info when we get the # of pledges needed.

I'll be the negative nancy. How about donating the cost of the membership to a worthwhile charity in Kevin's name instead.

I like the way you think and don't take your suggestion as a negative, at all.

But I think that with Kevin's quirky personality and how he placed much empasis on certain things like, for instance, Az Gold memberships, that not only could this be a very nice thing for us to do for Kevin symbolically (and makes us feel good), but who knows how things really work on the other side...??.

He may actually be aware of this gesture and it could provide him with a big smile.

And for me, that makes it worthwhile. :wink:
