Hello all,

I'd like to first say that I AM a fan of the new TV show, The Hustlers, and my fingers are crossed that it brings some new hype to our elegant sport.

That being said, I cant seem to notice the group may be mislabeled the best players in New York. I want to express that the players on the show are VERY good pool players and I mean not to take anything away from them, however, excluding Mike Dechaine and Jennifer Baretta, I don't believe any of the players are pro-caliber speed (correct me if I am wrong). There has to be a handful of pros in New York (Earl and Mika are the two I know for sure). How can they be labeled the best in New York?

P.S. If anyone from the cast is reading, you guys should come down to Drexeline in PA.

It's been talked about a lot on this forum. You're correct, it's not the best in New York. It's just a tv show and the general public doesn't know/care.

u guys u should come to fusco's bring ur best we will all match up

I'm just hoping the show is back on tomorrow night...a week without has me in a quandary. Uh, that's a 1947 quandary...a classic!

I know it's been talked about over and over here, but I do agree with the original poster - they didn't have to just come out and lie like that. They could have said something like "our best" players and that would have been vague enough that it wouldn't have been a lie.

Oy ... if you know that word, you know it's perfect for this tortured thread. It is a freakin' reality TV show! Oh yeah, that's been mentioned a couple of hundred times as well! :deadhorse:

At the Ginky, Finnegan was very clear the List is his ranking of the players on the show.

On the show itself he seems to bounce between saying it's the "best at Steinway" and "best in New York"

On American Billiard Radio, they made a point that somewhere in Louisiana there is a web forum for alligator hunters and on there they are all complaining that those doofuses on Swamp People are not the best and couldn't catch a cold, much less an alligator.

Its just tv, if you watch the Alaskan shows, theyre bullshit too. Youve seen the show with Atz Kilcher talking like they are out in the middle of nowhere? The Kilchers live 5-10 miles from town (Homer) and drive in pretty much daily for shopping etc. Atz is/was a music teacher at the middle school.
"Reality" has come to mean the reality the tv shows want you to see, not real reality.

Not everything is bull , one of the captains on wicked tuna is on a fishing forum and he explained how things were cut and pasted to add some drama but a lot of its very real
Just like deadliest catch anyone who thinks that's all BS better do a little homework before they run out and try to jump on one of those boats because I'm here to tell you if you think a 800 lb pot knocking a guy across the deck is a stuntman your sadly mistaken
Or crewman axing off ice buildup on decks and pots at sea no boys that ain't dri ice that shit is real it's dangerous ,,
The difference between this and the Hustlers is they brought the cameras to a existing real life profession and they didn't need a script it was already there

Those Lees have at least $500,000.00 of equipment-all of which needs fuel so they can live off the land -Ahahaha "Oh we didnt catch enough fish, How will we make it through the winter?" Yeah right!! Just have fillet mignon flown in from Anchorage every day with the money you make from the show and already have to begin with!
