Send Mike Wong to the U.S. Open

AtLarge, I'm sorry you are correct. Thank you for posting the payouts. I believe it is based on a field of 128, as they typically payout 25% of the field.

Mike is a decent player, plays very slow and takes his time on every shot. He plays real hard all the time and gives his best. With that being said. If your mad at your money than sponsor mike. Lol I'm just playing mike I wish you luck on getting a sponsor. But if you wanna play me some even 9 ball. I will play you a race to 15 for $1,000. Winner break, and we use the magic rack, and called 9 ball only. So let me know what you wanna do since the last time we were at a tournament you wouldn't play me. Maybe you can win $1,000 and put yourself in the U.S. Open and not sweat a stake horse.

This guy said he would play me some even one pocket even here on this forum, two months later when I moved to ohio (closer to philly) I asked him to play in his home pool room. He sounded real gung ho here (on line) but after consulting his buddies he said he needed 10-7 on the phone. I needled him a bit for his change of heart - as he was really typing hot and heavy here on the forum. He said he would have someone come to cleveland and break my arms - not to worry Mike this guy is all talk and no game. Just a gardner snake pretending to be a black mamba. And if you read this "philly worm" your buddies were right you do need 10-7.

Its nice to hear from you and know you're doing fine :)

The first time i watched you was when you play Tony Drago and you came back strong despite being down 3 rack in 3 min from the tornado, i like the way you play, all calm n steady but didnt see much video of you on youtube anymore.
After that, heard on the forum that you was in ICU so are you back playing again ?

A interested fan of yours :)

wong was also the guy who was racking off the spot in that tournament and got called out cheating

had tp be told several times

they talk about in the commentary if they post it
the tournament he loses to shaw

Now I remember the incident. Shaw tried to call him out on the racking off the spot(it was about maybe an inch). They called Tony Robles, the tournament director, and the final verdict on that issue was it was okay to do what Wong did.

It was a lengthy delay as Tony was not on site during the dispute.

Hi Danny Harriman, thanks for you input. I hope I get to watch your dvd soon. ;)

Hi Vinny, if you are reading this. I got a phone call and someone is really interested in staking me to play you, with a neutral racker or possibly letting you rack for both of us. Do you want to come to NYC?

Hi actionplayer, the rules of the tournament are that you are allowed to rack the 1-ball, a ball above or below the spot. I racked a little below the spot. The referee was unsure about the rule, and needed to call Tony Robles to confirm the rule. Thank you for your input.

Hi all bashers, I understand that this is the internet, and everyone is free to speak as they like. I understand that I am not a fast player and there are some that don't like my style of play, and that's okay. However, I find it disrespectful that people post on this thread with the sole intention of just bashing me. Please do it somewhere else, create your own thread to bash me, just don't do it here. Saying something negative about me to hurt my chances of getting support, I feel shows little class. It is not something I would do someone else, even if I disliked them.

To sponsors and stakers, thank you for showing your support. The following AZB members have decided to sponsor me so far:

Cardigan Kid $50
Lonestar_Jim $20
Anonymous friend from Philippines $200

Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich is a very slow player, but when he was out there on the tournament trail, I enjoyed watching him. I'm a Danny fan, though. :)

In 2004, they instituted a shot clock at the Glass City Open in the semifinals. It was Corey, Troy Frank, Danny, and Hillbilly. Danny had 30 seconds to make a shot. He shot fast and furious and ran a six-pack on Corey, knocking him out of the semifinals. It ended up being Hillbilly v. Danny in the finals, with Hillbilly coming out on top. Danny played just as good fast as he did slow. I never understood why he continued to play slow when he could play so good at a faster speed.

There's a lot of slow players out there. Nick Varner is slow. Dick Lane is slow. Ralf Souquet is slow. And they're all champions.

My favorite Danny photo.

But you gotta admit...

Hs best move, after poking the tiger with the stick, is to ask for 164-9.

How the ___are us humans gonna gonna possibly tangle with the big boys, without a sizeable soot?

Just for the sake of accuracy, those guys were playing speed pool compared to Wong's pace. Remember about 10 years ago when Archer was picking lint and playing excruciatingly slow? That's fast compared to Mike

AT Large

49+ = zero

33rd-48th = $2,000

It goes up by just $250 per group for 25-32, 17-24, 13-16, and 9-12.

[Assumes a full field.]

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the money is for places 1 through 11? I searched on the internet but can't find anything.

Thanks

Wedge

Absolutely!

Okay.....I get the point he's not popular with some of you but give a guy a break......it took gumption and a lot of guts to write that post....the guy was being candid.
Nowadays a lot of folks can use a helping hand from time to time........were it not for the good graces of God, you or I might find ourselves in need of a little help.

Matt B.

Well said sir!

Hi Jam, thank you for your words. I first time I really talked to Kid Delicious was a few months ago, he is really a cool guy. I was feeling a little down at that time, but just talking to him really raised my spirits. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him.

Hi Angel, thanks for your post.

Hi PT109, I got your pledge. Thank you. I'll try to update you guys as best as I can. Thanks again.

Serious question to Mike, not trying to bash but trying to understand your plea. Tell me if I have this correct.

You are looking at 100% of your trip to be donated by other players? I just breezed through the thread but it looks like you are hoping to get a complimentary trip out of this with no risk.

If you cash, are you giving the donators their money back if you make enough or are you keeping all of the prize money?

Just curious if you are asking for a donation or a spot with a potential to at least give the charitable their money back?

You obviously have a strong game, I see it's not easy to cash in the US Open.

Hi Mojo, please read my previous posts. I believe I explained everything thoroughly. Thank you.
