This is false. None of the Euros can beat any of the top Americans in a long race, as has been shown again and again. They are the favorites in the MC only because the format favors them.
Bergman is the man with that awesome performance over Darren. If lineup for tomorrow's all Singles final day can be changed, he should lead the charge.

LOL Not bad for a bar box banger!!!! He had three break in runs in a row if I remember correctly.
If I had to guess Shane was probably practicing.
Long individual races don't mean squat here. Europeans are the better TEAM here and have been now for last 5 years. They play fearless and the American plays extremely hesitant and tight. Credit where credit is due.

it might be a different story if he were playing everyone race to 3 games or points though.
How about just admitting that the European players are better? Can anyone actually do that, or would we rather just think up some different format that could allow the US to win again?
How about the Euros spot the US a game each set? Could someone do the calculations, and let me know what the match scores would be if the Euros gave the US a game on the wire every set?
Just did the math - it would be 8-7 US, if the Euros gave the US a game on the wire to 5. Perhaps this is a good idea for the next Mosconi Cup?

The irony of life....one who's always telling others what to do and how to do it....well...................I think we all know the rest of ''that'' story.
Nope, as an American, I'm incapable of admitting I'm wrong.
Seriously though, Europe is beating us and the proof is in the pudding. They're all pros and are all capable of making and avoiding the mistakes that have been seen.
That being said, I think America is finally on the upswing of having a talent pool to draw from.
It isn't like the Euros are playing over their heads, and the Americans are playing badly. Nick VDB and Daz are not playing that well. Ouschan is a machine. Boyes is playing very well, and Feijen is playing the way he plays. Shane is playing ok, Skylar and Justin are playing well, and Mike and Corey are succumbing to the pressure.
Pool is starting to mirror golf. For a long time, Americans dominated the PGA. There was the odd European that would come and win, but if you look at the face of golf now, the Euros are starting to produce the top golfers in the world. If you look at their schedule, they compete at least twice as often as the American golfers. They compete at most of the PGA events, as well as European tour events. Steel sharpens steel. You get experience by playing the best players in the world as often as you can.
Steel also has to be inspired to sharpen against steel. I attribute alot of the success Europe has in the Cup to the mentality that they play with and grow up with while learning to play. The fact is, America doesn't support pool as widely and openly as Europe does.
Also, as I stated earlier, America is far too serious as a unit. The players who are coming out and enjoying things are playing the best (Sky, Justin, Shane, Mike, Corey in that order) and their success is evident. Europe from jump street enjoys the event more, and they come much more relaxed and loose than America does. The entire Euro side jumps, claps, yells and acts like fools for even the smallest gains but America lacks in celebrating until something big happens.
I'd really like to see the entire team acting like idiots and enjoying the Cup for what it is instead of pressuring themselves so much. I don't much about their motivational speaker but I think someone with a little psychology background would better serve the team in inspiring and motivating them.
