Well here it is, our sixteen players for the next Bigfoot tourney. I know that I always say it's the best field yet, but this time I'll let you decide. I'm pretty jazzed up for this one, even the first round matches will look like the finals in most tournaments.

Shane, Dennis O., Darren, Niels, Kevin Cheng (U.S. Open champ), Ko Pin Yi, Justin B., Mike D., Efren, Francisco, Alex, Jayson, Morra, Carlo, Lee Van and Ruslan, the Russian.

Try to pick a winner from this field! Just remember there is always the possibility that a player will be unable to come for one reason or another. At this time they are all pretty solid and I wouldn't be surprised if they all come, but sometimes life gets in the way and someone can't make it. I'm pretty happy about the quality of this field. How about you?

I told Greg today that it's going to be packed in the Accu-Stats arena every day! Be there or be square.

I'll predict either Ko or Ruslan

Any chance of players doing commentary if they aren't in a match or in action?

Wait, who said it has Mosconi Cup points? I read Jay's post twice to be sure I didn't miss it in there.

Indeed, that's a terrific field, Jay. I see it goes all the way down into the 40's and 50's on the FargoRate list. The plan was to invite the highest 16 on the FargoRate list, and then keep going down the list as you got declinations, until you got 16 acceptances, right? So were all of those players who are on the FargoRate list above Chinaknov (looks like he is lowest on the list, currently at #52) but not on the Bigfoot list invited and declined? Or was the plan revised?

Just curious, given what I remember about how it was to work (if, indeed, I'm remembering correctly). Either way, you're going to have a fine event.

We took the top twelve we could get from the Fargo ratings. The last four spots were by invitation. There are eight of the top ten in the field and seven of the next ten (11-20).

Jay, that is AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait, who said it has Mosconi Cup points? I read Jay's post twice to be sure I didn't miss it in there.

I was simply making a point that it would be ridiculous to do so based on Jay's earlier comment.....

This year they will be giving Mosconi Cup points for regional tournaments that are noteworthy, like the Swanee, the Joss Tour and perhaps even the Mezz Tour. There will be less point awarded than in larger tournaments like DCC, but it gives players an incentive to play more of these regional tournaments. I think it's a good thing and will only add interest for the MC. Mosconi Cup points will bring more players into these fields and be a boost for tourney pool in the USA. There should definitely be MC points awarded for the Bigfoot tourney as well. We only get the best players in the world competing!

Nice field even though I would not have Dechaine, Efren or Busty there. It would have been nice to see Baby Ko, Chua & perhaps Skylar in the mix.

Thanks for the explanation, Jay. Using tonight's FargoRate list, it would be 6 from the top 10, 6 from the second 10, and then 23rd, 29th, 44th, and 52nd.

And they are all so good, it wouldn't surprise me to see #52 (Chinakhov) win. I hope to be able to watch.

Whaaaa, no Efren? When Efren is 70 he will still pack the stands more than anyone else, for the chance that people will see some magic:)
