Let's look at this in a completely optimistic light. The Hustlers actually had 1,000,000 viewers on one of the shows as far as I understand. Well, If one percent of those people 10,000 pre bought the videos to this game, the winning team of the match would get $64,000 and the players would each get $8000. The losing team would get $16,000, and each player would get $2000 for a 2 hour game. Obviously, this isn't going to happen soon, or maybe never, but it is something that I would like to see happen. It would make cross country travel possible and anything any other professional team does possible. Well, according to the haters, it will be stupid. But to me, that is the goal.
This is foolish optimism at best, and let me tell you why. This 1 million number that you're quoting is probably extremely inflated but also, it's the number of people who tuned into a cable television network to see what was on OR to watch a specific show.
Your show has no cable network, does it? So you don't have that "1% of 1 million" target to shoot for. You can't pitch this "bonus content" (the actual matches) idea to those 1 million. Instead, you're pitching this to a crowd of roughly 40k AZ users. Let's assume that at least 50% of that 40k is filled with either inactive or shill accounts OR people who haven't even bothered to read this thread at all. Now you're number is more like 20k.
Your optimistic 1% return on targeting 20k people would look more like 200 customers. 200 customers who may (or judging by the reaction of those people you targeted with this thread) probably will not buy your bonus streaming content.
Now, there are plenty of reality shows that host 'bonus' material (behind-the-scenes footage; outtakes; etc.) on their websites. But the truth of the matter is, they don't CHARGE for it. It's there as free marketing content that, once on network's site, may lead you to discover OTHER shows on said network. It's marketing collateral. It's free.
So now your idea is "just another reality show with bonus material that you have to pay for".
