Dennis vs. SVB Full Story- Truth From the Inside

I can't imagine how French runs his business. Guy is a pure scam artist. Having someone that's incapable of reading sign that contract is pure fraud.

After seeing that piece of used toilet paper JF has the audacity to call a "contract", I believe every word of the OP's story.

Fair enough. Those running the stream may not have known all of the details. But this version of the story gives the impression that nobody had any idea of where the prize money was coming from. Are you telling us that Dennis and Ko played a match and neither had any idea of where the money was coming from the pay them?

Obviously Dennis thought that French was coming up with his half, but Dennis or French never made sure the 10k from Ko was posted before the match started? This can't only be on French's back. The players had to know before the match started that they weren't playing for 20k. Someone please prove me wrong.

I agree the Ko match is still funky. French has posted he didnt bet ANYTHING in the middle only on the rail. The whole deal in NYC was completely rotten. I can believe Dennis maybe was lied to about what was in the middle but no way he didnt know the 20k wasnt there. Even then his job to play and he did so I dont put much blame on Dennis for the deception. That all rests squarely on the people promoting and streaming the match.

You have one player who has a very basic understanding of the language and one who knows nothing. They are pawns in this deal. The people taking money for a bullshit match and chopping up the PPV and the gate are the bad guys here.

And that people is the crux of the matter ....

Would the player not expect that the backer (French) had made sure that the money had been posted? Is this something the player would be expected to check?

Gideon<---really wants to know - I not familiar with this stuff

French's response below....what a POS. He never made the contract and yet it has his signature on it. I highly doubt he signed it without reading it.

"This 100 percent untrue he stayed months with me when we went to tournaments and won he sent all the money home to his wife I payed for everything I never had him sign nothing at all the lawyer put the contract together it was made by them not me Dennis owes me a lot of money and he knows that's a fact he was so happy here that he had his entire family moving to my town I never made the contract it was done by a lawyer"

Dennis family has a better chance of moving to Mars than to the U.S. Getting a visa to come here from the PI is brutal for a top player no way a whole family just hops on a plane and moves in next door to the Frenchies. Just one more BS statement in a long line of them.

To me the key question still is: Did French take the 10k money that Ko and his backer posted? I'm guessing "no". So the players had to know that there was no 10k coming from Ko's side, therefore, why would French cough up 10k?

I'm not defending French at all here, but it appears to me that Ko's side decided not to fund the match, so it was covered up so that the match could continue and the PPV monies could be kept.

There was no Ko backer. He bailed before the match.

French posted he didnt bet anything in the middle and Ko didnt have a backer so that kind of narrows things down. The whole deal is straight rotten from top to bottom. People got scammed who bought the stream based on it being a 20k gambling match.

I'm gonna start watching and supporting youth pool.

We're all a bunch of ****S for even reading this.

JCIN - not that you ever should, but let me know if you ever get back into the promoting game.

This makes a lot more sense than laying the blame with Dennis. I was sure from the start that Dennis wouldn't turn out to be the one at fault here and awaited the real story.

Sounds like both Dennis and SVB quite logically walked away from this. Both were misled and both wanted no part of a match that wasn't on the level.

Regardless of what one thinks of Dennis -- and if what I've heard is true I certainly wouldn't hold him up as a paragon of ethics and sportsmanship -- he appears to clearly be a victim here. The contract as posted is absurd and clearly intended to take advantage of him. Even more so if true that Dennis was told it only applied to DVD royalties. Someone posted in the other thread that Dennis has a good understanding of English, so it doesn't sound like the language barrier could explain such a discrepancy in his understanding.

French said he signed the Ko brothers...
Can anybody confirm this?

Those guys are not capable of signing anything in english...

If he did this he shouldn't be allowed into any pool hall in the US again.

Written English or spoken only? I've known people born elsewhere who speak English quite well but cannot read much at all.

Maybe he will try and sign the KlitschKO brothers next, then no one will ever have to read the DF's name on here again.

$H,
still wondering what happened to the "pancaking" days...:bash:
