Any Daz vs earl updates?

Sticky because earl draws crowds so they let him stay regardless?

I heard when he was just here people signed up for a group lesson with him and hatch for $100 by 10 players and earl didnt bother to show. Glad I didnt waste any $

I have not had a chance to watch this at all.

For those watching this action on the 4 pocket table how do you think the game of 8-ball would be on this table for pros? Do you think it would ramp up the difficulty and lower the number of runouts a lot?

Removing bunkers does not make the game more difficult.

bunkers are a hazard. which can't really be compared to pockets on a pool table since you aren't trying to avoid the pockets.

a better analogy would be to compare it to the fairway.

making the fairway smaller in golf is the same as removing pockets on a pool table.

which yes, would make the game more difficult

To be fair and accurate, Earl's "antics" had nothing to do with RJ Reynolds quitting professional pool. If you want to blame someone, blame Don Mackey and the almost $900K lawsuit he won against them...and then never paid the players on the PBTA a dime! This is two decades old...not news anymore.

He may have been a large part of the reason Camel bailed but that has almost no relevance as to why there is no tour today. Earl should have definitely been tossed from more events but barring him from entering is stickier than tossing him from my experience. That's all im gong to say on that.

Solution is very easily found. Don't allow Earl to enter any event anymore. He is the sole reason there is no pro pool tour. Multiple TD's over the years have allowed Earl's antics inspite of the sponsors wanting that behavior controlled.

Clueless.....

All of this talk actually has me interested. I'm buying today. No such thing as bad publicity and sucker born every minute might apply I guess

Clueless.....

I wonder why the number of break and runs has dropped significantly.

Playing the same 10 ball that's been played for years.

I wonder what could be the cause. Hmmmmm....

See, I back up my words with facts.

Where's yours, sweetheart?

I don't like Earl Antics or Behavior, but I am sorry, you are dead wrong with your statement there, you saying that this type of behavior is responsible for pool not to have sponsors or enough money and that this behavior and the reason there is no pro pool tour? This is so wrong in so many levels, as a matter of fact, as much as I don't like his behavior, but bring more of that kind of behavior and antics and drama to the game and watch more sponsors chip in and coming to bring this to TV for people to watch, you are a pool player, you don't like this, but TV personal they know that this drama can trigger audience that has nothing to do with pool which would be a huge number which will translate to money to them, THEY KNOW that this is the type of stuff that they need on TV, as a matter of fact the sole reason for pool to die and have no money or sponsor is the quiet the exact opposite, players like Ralf souqet and Neils and mostly the EU players who sit quietly in their chair and do nothing and just be there - as boring as hell - TO THEM TV personal, this will not work for TV, it will put people to sleep. I understand that this FOR YOU as pool player is amazing, and is the legitement pool mind, you would go "Oh wow look at ralf he is composed and doing nothing" but for money making machines and TV & sponsors, they want drama, they want fights and dances around the table, they want action.

as i said, for audience that has nothing to do with pool, what you want is what killed pool, thats why pool will never work and pickup pace in terms of sponsor and TV, this is the truth weather you like it or not, because what you want which is the opposite of what Earl is doing and that will put normal people to sleep or switch the channel, you as player and only players will like this, but not the normal viewers on TV, so pepsi will never come to pool its quite boring, they know normal audience will not want to watch this.

There are many examples of other sports where when adding people with Antics and Drama had made their game and built a foundation of audience which translated into money, which then brought even more sponsors, I don't want to name names or sports but this exactly what happened to them for the game to pickup, it's when the PEOPLE who dont play the sport start WATCHING the sport, for us it's just those that play pool who watch pool, and even imagine this, 50% of pool players dont watch pool themselves, only the other 50% watch pool, I know friends who play pool who even stated to me that its boring to watch pool, lol. and whenever I put pool infront of my wife or father who don't play pool, they either leave after 5mins or sleep.

Again, let me tell you this one more time so you don't misunderstand me, I am a player, and I don't like what Earl does, yesterday while I was watching he made me so angry that I shouted at my screen, what the F is this guy doing, I used ot love Earl. but when you saw your comment, you said that you think EArl is sole reason for pool not to pick up in terms of money and exposure and sponsor and what not? here you are dead wrong, if you had 10 people like EArl you would see that Car companies and Pepesi and BMW and other big giant companies coming here to make big events for pool, trust me on this one, they hunt the normal audience, and what makes normal audience watch? it's drama, people love drama man, I hate to repeat myself but the normal people (The ones that never play pool) they dont want to get bored watching two guys sitting quietly and just shooting, they will start yawning, I hope you understand this in the prespective of TV personal and normal audience, if you leave your "Pool player mind-set" you will get it.

I find numerous people on AZ to be funny and somewhat hypocritical.

A thread about Mike D. coming in and getting a new tip, (I'm going to respect his privacy and not tell you what shaft or tip he wanted on LOL, ya OK.)

Then here is a whole other group of people who want to play Dr. and say things about Earl and his "mental health" like it's the Dr. Oz hour.

P.S. Thanks Sigmund for your psychoanalysis.

Earl has a mental illness. Nothing anybody can say will make him think he's not being persecuted. It's a way he handles pressure now, albeit a dysfunctional way of handling it. He tries to get motivated by putting himself against the world. Under that pressure he typically cracks. He gives himself an excuse to lose. It's shameful behavior, but he cannot control it. If pool had a players union or major sponsor, his behavior could be regulated. Instead, sadly, we get a front row seat to watch a champion self destructing. I wish he had someone who could turn this around for him because he's incapable of doing it on his own.

Don't need to be a Dr to figure that out

91 racks played thus far with 1 break and run.

Wedge

I'd say the table just might be playing a tad harder with no side pockets is it otherwise a 9ft table with standard cut pockets
If it is I'm a little surprised at that number
