Any Daz vs earl updates?

Clueless.....

I wonder why the number of break and runs has dropped significantly.

Playing the same 10 ball that's been played for years.

I wonder what could be the cause. Hmmmmm....

See, I back up my words with facts.

Where's yours, sweetheart?

91 racks played thus far with 1 break and run.

Seems to me that the Biebs knows something.

I was thinking of watching it....but I didn't want to take sides.....

Earl misses and raked another one - never seen BS like this. DAZ on the hill.

I do believe the breaker is at a disadvantage on this table. It's a game of safeties.

I wonder whose 5k Earl was using to rake those balls? Not Earls, that's for sure. Johnnyt

All those years of crying for no side pockets and he doesn't even give it 100%.Pathetic.

All tournaments IMO should adopt the following rule:

Upon first concession of balls: Lose that game, plus 1 additional game penalty.
Upon second concession of balls: Lose entire match.

107 racks played with only 1 break and run.

Sure and if there were 3 pockets there'd be none. The problem is it is not a game, it is just part of Earl's delusional mind which someone decided to cater to for unknown reasons.

Post game interview, Darren was gracious. They all avoided discussing Earl's antics. DAZ said the game was tough, the smaller pockets (4.25") were an advantage to him. There was only 1 break and run, so it was a game of safeties and kicking. He said the table was so difficult, that only by playing someone on it under pressure can the difficulty be appreciated.

DAZ said he has learned how to better accept his own mistakes and he was focused on his own play, not distractions. He thought the table did not play to Earl's strengths because of the tight pockets. He inferred that Earl allowed the table and his own mistakes to get to him mentally. He said it was a grinders game and he came into it prepared to grind. He likes the game and is excited about future 4 pocket matches. Archer and Morra will play next. The commentators gave him props for keeping his cool. He clearly did not approve of Earl raking (forfeiting) after a mistake.

An excellent point DAZ made was he likes the format much better than a long race. He compared it to tennis. Spectators like hill-hill or close sets and competitors know that each new set is a new match. He said long races are boring compared to playing sets.

I think I would pay to see grass grow long before I'd pay to watch this fiasco

Despite Earl's behavior, I can see where the game has merit. The top players would find it much more challenging than a standard Diamond.

Earl kind of proved his point, but couldn't hold up to the difficulty himself. Darren out ground him, out kicked him and out safed him. Taking away the sides removes a lot of options. The break is no longer an advantage. There are a lot more long shots and a lot more situations where safeties are wiser than taking a difficult shot.

Not just Daz, but a point that I and others have made as well.

This format is the nuts. It has more than enough play to make sure the better play wins, and it's not a total snooze fest.

The lack of side pockets does make it a more difficult game, which is a great thing, but I'm still not completely sold on the idea yet..

The Archer/Morra match should be much closer. Archer isn't the same player he used to be, and Morra sucks in challenge matches (at least those that get streamed).
