Who is the best woman player all time

Does Jean still own or run Hall of Fame Billiards and if so is she usually there and does she ever shoot some balls there?

Jean does still own Hall of Fame Billiards in Brooklyn, but I don't how often she goes. The time I went (about 5 years ago) they said she wasn't around and really didn't come in much, but that was a long time ago.

Depends on the game. In 14.1, I would say it's Jean, hands down. But Jean didn't like 9 Ball. She had real problems dealing with the luck factor of the game and it got into her head.

I think Allison and Karen are tied for the best all around players at this time but Karen just keeps getting stronger. I think she may wind up being the best ever.

As far as I'm concerned, Fran brings the most informed view of all of us to this thread. Fran, a very accomplished player in her own right, competed many times against Jean in both the straight pool era and the nine ball era and competed frequently against Fisher and Corr in the nine ball era.

Lori Jon Jones was the youngest to ever win a world 14-1 title male or female and has 8 world titles to her name and 5 time player of the yr also
Since 08 Kelly Fisher has been better than Karen or Allison and has a power game neither of the have or had
Ga young Kim IMHO is better than those 3 and I agree with Jay Siming Chen is at a whole nother level than all of them

The question was not the most accomplished it was who's the best , meaning skill wise. ,

I don't think anybody actualy believes Aron or Bonds was a better home run hitter than Babe

I'd call Sha Sha Liu a better player than Siming Chen right now and Han Yu may be Siming Chen's equal. Ga Young is an all time great, but not quite on a par with Jean, Allison or Karen. Ruth McGinnis and Ga Young probably round out the top five women ever.

I think Hung Chow, and Sha Na Na, are as good as any of them. ;)

Recently apparently there was some artical on the 4 best players of all time that left Karen Korr of the list
A friend on FB to notice laughed and said the list starts with Allison and Karen
Mine starts with Jean Balukas and Lori Jon Jones , then Allison after those it gets murky because I don't know what the critera was Kelly Fisher and Ga young Kim are at or near the top of there game and IMHO have a higher gear

Who you got ?

If you include women who also gambled then Lori Shampo and Jeanette Lee would top the list from what I know. No others are close.

I would never consider using Fargo in judging greatness you can beat great players all the time but be a choking dog for a big tittle or cash

I think Chezka Centeno will start dominating women's 9-ball and 10-ball if she continues to improve at the rate she is.

I don't know if she will ever beat all the records that have been set by previous players, but her play far exceeds the play of many of them. Her stroke is like Jason Shaw's and she has a very sharp quick eye. It may sound sexist, but her style of play is like a man's and she overpowers her opponents.

Siming Chen plays about Corey Duels speed and is no where near her peak yet. And although not as young as Centeno, she is still young.

jean, alison Karen can all get the vote from whomever likes them the best...mine is jean

all due respect to the younger up and coming players...wait till they have a career first

someone also mention jeans career wasn't long enough? real lack of knowledge there

What would you think of a Battle of the Sexes in pool? Something like the Mosconi Cup? Take the top players and have at it?

The current top 5 female players in the world as of today are:

#1 Siming Chen from China
#2 Chezka Centeno from the Phillipines
#3 Han Yu from China
#4 Chieh Yu Chou from Taiwan
#5 Ga Young Kim from Korea

These 5 players could fair well playing against 2015's team USA or team Europe for example.

Now there's an action match...reminiscent of the King-Riggs tennis match...
...but I'm unloading on the 'Prince'

I would like to see this match!! It would help promote the sport and showcase how far women players have come today.
