What type of person would throw their hands up and yell in celebration after a miss?

If I ever win the lottery or a 50/50 drawling, I will make sure I don't celebrate.

It would be unsportsmanlike to do that in front of all the losers sitting around me.

By reading this thread and your responses, it does not appear that you are actually asking for any other input here. You are stating your opinion and then defending it to every poster.

So why not dispense with the pageantry and just state what your opinion is in the original post, then instruct people not to have differing opinions?

If you're justin386 you're just curious about a lot of things and ask for other's opinions then continue to state yours and defend it to every poster; it's what you do.

If you want to save 15% and more on car insurance you switch to Geico; it's what you do.

best,

Sounds kind of terrible.

Also, Geico cannot insure any of my vehicles as they are between 50 and 75 years old. Got that Hagerty??? :grin-square:

I am staying open minded, and after reading all of the replies, my opinion has not changed. I still feel that how he reacted was not right, and it should not matter that he only had that reaction for a split second.

I also seen how he acted toward Ronnie Wiseman , that was clearly a sharking move (in my opinion). It just seems to me that some pool players will do anything to win, just so they are not breaking any rules. There does not seem to be much honor in this sport.

That was like a 1/10-of a second jump. He didn't dance around and rub it in, etc. He was surprised, so he jumped up and immediately sat back down again (i.e. he realized he shouldn't have done it and immediately stopped). With Dennis's back to Johnny, I doubt Dennis even saw it because it was over so quickly.

The thing that actually shocked me the most was that noise that I heard, that I honestly thought came from Johnny after he threw his hands up in the air. I am sure that Orcollo heard that cheer (or what ever you want to call it). This is pool, not football. Completely different sports. In America, most if our pool audiences do not cheer like that when someone (that they are not cheering for) makes a mistake. Maybe I have just not watched enough pool. Maybe this is not surprising behavior.

Hagerty is the NUTS when it comes to insuring cars! They have always treated me great, and every person on their staff is truly a car guy ( or car gal )! Anyone here that has any kind of classic that either has not done Biz with Hagerty or has not at least talked with them do yourself A HUGE favor and just givem a call - you can thank me later!

Justin, as someone ,entwined earlier you have never been in the same spot as Johnny nor will you ever. That's fine because not me nor a WHOLE LOT of others will be ever. What we can do though is have ourselves in a big action match for a thousand, couple thousand, or many thousands! Not sure if you've ever been in a tight match for let's say $1000, but a match like such CAN become very emotional on you and when you are on the hill and you're pumping that 9er in it is quite the feeling and letting out the bliss is totally acceptable and normal. So for the record; and sorry if I ,issued it somehow, what do you find acceptable ? Or is it that ya just wanna post another one of your "thingz" looking to get some kinda RIZE outta whomeva?????

Justin,
Those of us that have read your previous posts, realize you have one of those odd personality, that seem to never be happy with anything. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but, my god you seem to never stop complaining and think everyone should know it.

Johnnys responce was not even border line disrespectful, IMO.
What is the reaction of pro football players, when the opposing team misses a game winning field goal?
What is the reaction of baseball players when the opposing team foul tips and the ball is caught for the out?
See what I'm getting at?
Most of the time when competing at a high level, a lot of emotion is involved, and when being handed a gift like he got handed, he was happy and showed it.
We as humans are emotional beings(some more than others) and why on earth would someone not express those emotions? He didn't belittle him for missing, he just reacted in a way that most people would, in that situation.

Have a good one!

Did Bmore just coin a new pool phrase?
....LETTING OUT THE BLISS....

I think I like it.

You think Johnny's reaction was inappropriate, go to the Middle East.

They shoot their guns up in the air when they are expressing jubilation.

They shoot you when they are not.

Lol, maybe so! Bliss just seemed appropriate when taking to Justin. But do not worry, I am happy to share my bliss with everyone !

happens all the time in other sports, I guess pool protocols dictate otherwise

Archer should know better, he's always been pretty oblivious though to anything other than his shooting and of course lint on the cloth, lol, the dude was Strcikland-esque in his prime talentwise with the personality of drywall, ...........as far as Dennis, couldn't have happened to a more sportsmanlike person (heavy sarcasm)

pro pool remains bush league in the Phillipines and North America

Japan, China, Tawian and Europe seem to be almost fully there in regards to serious professional standards and codes of conduct

WINNERS, that's who ;) j/k

Ever see a bowler jump up and shout when his opponent misses a spare? Ever see a golfer jump and yell when his opponent misses a putt? Ever see a tennis player jump and yell when his opponent misses his serve?

It depends on the sport...Not all sports have opponents jumping and yelling when their opponnet screws up...

There's a player in our league that talks and raises his voice when it looks like you may scratch..."Go..Go. Get in there he yells at the cue ball to go in pocket ...When it does he yells. YEAH....Annoying as hell...

And then 2 full minutes to run 4 easy balls

It might have taken me 3 min. ;)

My cousin was a state highway engineer for his entire adult life and I always enjoyed his stories.

I remember him telling some to do with tall bridge construction and one thing that stuck with me was this:

He said; "It's amazing how pretty much no one has a problem staying on a standard width sidewalk but then take that very same sidewalk and put it 50 feet up in the air and almost all of those people will want to get down on their hands and knees and crawl."

Point being, at hill-hill in a final on a TV table and having just watched his opponent, who happens to be one of the absolute best players in the world, blow it with a miscue, hard to fault JA for taking all the time he felt he needed on those final 4 balls.

imo. :)

I think a few people have noted that Orcollo had his back turned when Archer threw his hands up in the air (as if Orcollo did not even see it). Well, if you watch the video carefully, then you will see that Archer still had his hands up in the air at the time that Orcollo had turned his head around (toward Johnny), so I am sure that Orcollo did in fact notice Archers hands up in the air like that. Also, some have noted that Archer sat back down as soon as he realized that maybe he was behaving in a disrespectful manor. Well, that is also not true. I think that he sat back down to catch his breath, so he could remain calm and focused (and this was around 30 seconds after he threw his hands up in the air like that, and also had himself a drink of water). I do not think that he sat back down out of respect for Orcollo (or for any other reason that others have stated). These are just my opinions, and just stating the way I feel about his behavior. I understand that most of you do not agree, and that is okay. Sorry for creating this thread. It was just shocking to see my all time most favorite pool player act like that. Hopefully Orcollo was not offended by the way Archer acted (as some of you have stated). Sorry for bumping this thread up again.

I'm calling bullshit here, Justin......that wasn't water he was sipping....
....it was MOUNTAIN DEW

Hard to fade still alive lol. I think we need instant reply in pool now, not for the shots but for what the players do with their arms. Justin , I do have serious question for you that I am now wondering : In just about every one of your threads ( maybe all of them ) you always end up apologizing for creating the thread. If you apologize for every thread then why do you make them lol? A little of that - same thing; different results type stuff going on my man??? lol

Yeah, well that is because you guys always make me feel so bad for the stuff that I say and ask about in most of the threads that I create. I have been attacked (without anyone to back me up) in probably 95% of the threads I have created, so yeah, that is probably why I say sorry so much (not to mention my very low self esteem, and other mental issues). Saying sorry about everything that I do is just a part of who I am. I post stuff that is on my mind, and then I get attacked just about every single time. This is a pool forum, so I should understand about why I get attacked so much.
