Diamonds trapping balls

With that pocket speed and angle of approach, new cloth and clean balls....that same shot can be made.all day long:rolleyes:

Indeed. Not in my basement with 5 year old worn out simonis 860 hr though. On my table in my conditions, you just missed.

Anyone care to donate a couple hundred bucks so I can recloth my 9' diamond? I am suffering over here.

Are you that clueless?
That ball should not go in on pro-cut pockets.
Look at the angle of approach again.
That 7-ball was about a diamond to the inside and in the middle of the table.
Bob Jewett thinks it's funny why it went in as well.

People were making fun of those tables all week long during the Mosconi Cup b/c they were taking balls in too generously.
Looks like the end rail facings have a cup to me .

Funny Story

Being playing on newish Diamonds lately and noticed that if you knuckle a ball they trap and stay right over the pocket, is this normal for Diamonds?

The Derby City Classic-
it's late/early and my shoe comes untied- I'm holding a bottle of water, I place in a pocket of a vendor table so I can tie my shoe,
and
GULP!
Table ate my bottle! Couldn't retrieve it. :sorry:

BTW I am not rattling shots and don't have an accuracy problem, I make centuries on my home table a 6x12 with 3-1/8" pockets so it's not an issue.
I am just commenting in general about the cut of the pockets.

I am assuming you are talking about the 2 ball bank? The 2 ball hits the long rail less than a diamond from the pocket on a pretty shallow approach angle at a little more than pocket speed, add a little more speed and that ball does not go.

Go back and view the two videos that Joey posted, they are much worse

I own an old A E Schmidt with deep shelves and old rubber and the shelves are concave. It spits out a lot of balls.
