I'd guess it's more or less the same here, when gambling either really pumped up or broke but they send it in and round and round it goes. Not to mention they're all killers over there.
More than 95% of players here in the U.S. not on TV!! This is almost the national game of choice over there. So almost everybody believes or thinks they can play. Therefore their pool of resources is almost infinite. These scores have to come more frequently and in larger amounts. Even if it is in their currency.

I saw a documentary about gambling, many years ago. In it was made the claim that (thailand? Philippines? I dont recall) had the dubious honor of being a nation that bet more annually than its own gdp.

There's a lot of gold, nickel and bananas in the Philippines.
That's a lot of gambling peso .
Minimum wage in the Philippines is about $8 a day.
If you were making $20 a day, you'd be doing ok.
But, let's just put it this way.
Antonio Gabica has been working in Qatar as the national coach there.
He was active in the Philippine pool action.
I saw him 10 years ago and he just had a baby.
When they get really good, they usually go overseas.
That would really mean, they want to send their wives at least $1,000 month for support. That gets them a decent place and the kids can go to school comfortably.
A good hustler there, will find it hard to clear $1,000 a month.
Too many people have their hands on the action peso.

I did see that the USA does not even make the top ten for average losses per person per year, per capita.
Australia was #1.
At the Derby a many years ago before it moved to the casino the Pino group were playing cards at 8 am in a room. The door was open and we could see in walking by. The place was a disaster. All that was needed were a few chickens running around.
The person walking next to me made a comment that in the Philippines everyone was involved in either cock fighting, pool, cards or boxing.
I guess they just trade money until some new money comes in and that is how it is with most gamblers. Money doesn't mean anything except a means to get into the game or action. They have tons today and will be broke tomorrow looking for a way to get back into the game.

I would say they win way more than they make... or have in their pocket at the end of the year.
This is probably true for most gamblers though...

8 x 5 days = 40 a week
$40 x 52 weeks = $2080 a year
20 x 5 days = 100 a week
$100 x 52 weeks = $5200 a year
Management fee is usually 50% if part of some type of stable or more. So, they need to make between 4k and 10k a year to stay with-in living standards. Not a very big nut to crack by USA standards but over there it is a much different story!
Expenses to the USA and back plus room, board and meals. They send over several players and they share (1) room and cook in the room to save money. Very frugal and community oreinted. Pretty hard not to be when 6 people are sharing (1) room 10K miles from home on someone else's dime!!!
Johnny, I hope this answers your question? By their standards it is a ok living if they get 2k plus a year from their stable. Not so good by USA standards at all.
