I am relatively new here. I lurked for a long time but recently started posting. So you can my post with a grain of salt. (and I'm sure you will :lol
I find his banning puzzling. Is there ever any info posted as to why on this forum?
He seemed to ruffle some feathers but he had an opinion and generally at least contributed. There seem to be a wealth of other trolls here who are IMHO much worse, but seem to be allowed to remain. A few usernames jump to mind in my short time being active here. The sad thing is that they actually seem to be really bad at it also. Typically a good troll will at least upset the status quo. The ones seemingly allowed to remain here are just juvenile and annoying.
Half the other trolling like behavior here I can't decide if they are actually trolls or not. I alternate between thinking they must just really honestly lack any self awareness or actually be that dumb.
I like this place. There is a load of good info here and posters who have loads more knowledge than I. Lots of wheat to go with the chaff. I will say it is certainly a more unbridled forum than others I frequent. Specifically around name calling, call out threads and the like. That's fine, and I actually kind of dig it.
I just don't really get this, and I really would like to know what got that guy the hammer. I got the feeling he was actually who he said it was, so if it was a multiple accounts I'd be surprised. Anyway, mostly just curious, as I said I like the place so don't take this a new guy crapping on your ways here.

I'd tell you to search his threads/posts but they're all deleted. Just rest assured that his rants were insane AND obnoxious. I checked out his fb to play pool detective in hopes of finding something meaningful about his game. After a few minutes of scrolling by junk posts of his, i noticed i had only gone back a couple of days - he really doesn't stop talking. I would agree with your analysis.

His video was a beautiful coming together of Colonel Kurtz' monologues and the Seinfeld episode where Kramer is cooking dinner in the shower. It was beautiful, in a way.

If I missed something and he crossed a line then so be it but I'm a big boy and can edit what I read and what I take a pass on.
After watching the "buying a pool cue" video it seems AZ might have a been a good outlet for the guy. Maybe it's just the holiday season but I'm a little empathetic at this time.
There are people in pool rooms, at work and in life in general that you just politely give them a minute and then move on.

It was likely a combination of things, especially once he started with the vulgarities near the end.
