Wrap Question. What is the tackiest feeling leather grip?

I thought elephant ear was the one but the one on my new cue is not tacky. I believe my wrap was dyed and pressed on install. It is super nice looking but not tacky feeling like some others that I have felt.

Is there another leather wrap type that would give me a more tacky grip feel?

Is there a certain type elephant ear wrap that has the tacky feel?

I like the rubber wrap feel but when using a slip on type rubber wrap the handle thicker feeling which in turn I dislike.

Any opinions please?

Tommy Hill has Kangaroo leather installed on a couple of customs he ordered.
If I had it to do over, I'd definitely consider Kangaroo. All of my children played
with Nokona Baseball & Softball Gloves & Mitts made with Kangaroo leather.
The Nokonas are better made,more durable than Rawlings Pro Preferred series.
I'd definitely recommend Kangaroo to anyone thinking of a leather cue wrap.

But seriously, the feel will likely have more to do with how the leather is finished than anything else.

I know a guy with a leather wrap finished by Russ Espiritu. I have to say it is the most amazingly tacky grip I have ever felt. I have no idea what the leather is but it is smooth. He said he sent it back to Russ twice to get that feel. And it has withstood heavy use for like ten years, still like new.

Probably a stack wrap applied by Tiger. They use a finish material that makes the grip shiny and tacky. However, it eventually wears off and becomes smoother. They might be able to tell you how to condition the leather yourself.

I also like a sticky grip and now switched to wrapless, which I like a lot.

Kangaroo is awesome. I recently played with a friend's BobOwen that he's just had re-wrapped. Best feeling wrap ever,imo.

I'm also a wrapless guy and always have been at heart, but have always dabbled with other stuff.

I have to disagree on the stack leather wrap. I've had two cues with the Tiger stack leather wrap and while they looked great and felt good to me, they were not sticky. It was as smooth and seamless as a wrapless cue, but more slippery.

I would agree with Kangaroo for sure. A couple of guys that I play with have it installed and that stuff is really really tacky.
 
I have seen Elephant Cowboy boots that the leather had little spores sticking up all over it that felt like rubber. I don't know if you can get a piece like that for a pool cue. But that would be a beautiful wrap. The little spores were real shinny on top.

Although not done by Tiger, that was my experience with a stack wrap too. Found it very smooth and very slippery and would be my last choice for a wrap.

I love the feel of "Roo." I had wondered about it's durability due to it's soft feel. Baseball gloves made of Kangaroo answer that question.
 
I have a cue wrapped with oil tanned bull hide, soft and tacky. Sort of a poor mans elephant wrap.

Hi Kevin, I have shared your experience many times... I buy, sell and trade cues like they are going out of style...(ok, I used to before the cue market crashed)..and do tons of repairs locally..
So one day, one of my friends and fellow player
said I have just what you need to stop that slip stroke of yours.... We laughed and I said I don't have a slip stroke.. it's the wrap....he tossed me a small 6oz bottle of......Prince sure grip... best stuff ever! ...used for playing tennis....and it's cheap..$5.00.... spray onto your hands..drys almost instantly and badabing...ready to go... good stuff...no joke.

It gets my vote , I love that wrap not to mention the look you can get with all the choices
