I assume you've played the game? 147 is red-seven FIFTEEN times and then run the colors. On a 6x12. Yeah, just 15.

No haven't tried it, snooker is far and above my ball potting abilities, i prefer to enjoy it from a tv screen lol
Outta try it. IIRC there are are some snooker places in H-town with good equipment.
Yep qball houston is the nicest biggest snooker room

There was one in a little backwoods pool room near here for a while. They had a 12 foot and a 10 foot. I loved playing on the 12. Apparently a British guy moved here and opened the room. It's been closed for a while though. Wish I could find another one.

What makes more of a difference than anything imo is the quality of the setup

At Bucktooth's place in Castro Valley, the 10-foot "snooker" table had pockets such that you probably could not make the black off its spot. Official snooker tables have to match a 3-d template for size of pocket and taper of rubber.
Those are exactly the type I have played on.
That would make a 147 pretty tough, lol.

Ronnie is wonderful for snooker. Thank goodness for the Ronnie's in the world The pocket billiard or pool world, whatever you want to call, could use a Ronnie or two to bring excitement and fun into the game/sport.
Barry Hearn is well aware of Ronnie's whining and has a retort about the venue, but Barry also stated that Ronnie was good for the game of snooker. People love watching him. He is truly a living legend.
In pool, at least in USA, there's no new blood getting into the game. The BCA organization claims they are going to help the youth, e.g., BEF, but what about the existing lot of pros?
The BCA is supposed to be the governing body of professional pool, according to the WPA, but what have they done for professional pool in North America lately?

No more. Most of the pros switched to Taom. The reason being it leaves less smudges on the balls and thus less cleaning of whitey and less kicks. Which makes an even greater difference in snooker due to the smaller balls, longer distances etc.
Well, I never do that either. It is an extemely bad habit in all cue sports, IMHO. And really easy to avoid. The same with the boreholes in chalk. I don't think leaving chalk on the rails is as bad as either of the above. Just a quick shove and the "problem" is gone. However, I agree that ideally you should not leave chalk on the rails. I am far from perfect there, though.
I believe pool players could learn a lot from snooker players. Although I would not want all of that extreme dress code and etiquette.

P.s Taom made recently Taom2.0 chalk which have better grip. Only downsize is that will mess balls/table more if it is really damp weather. IMHO.
I personally liked early version more because I got used to it. 2.0 is still good but I get (somewhat)bad contact 1-2 per week now. Earlier it was 0-1 per 2 months

WPBSA and the venue had press release stating that they regretted Ronnie saying bad things about the venue while the other players said nothing negative which makes it sound like Ronnie was just whining....
On the other hand a friend of mine who has a very close relationship with top snooker pro told me that things Ronnie said were actually true (smell of urine in the venue, cables everywhere around practice tables..). So go figure:frown:
