That's the point Jay. So, if the billion dollar pro businesses can put up with felons, wife beaters, drug addicts, rapists surely pool, a game nobody watches, nobody cares about and is not even on TV can surely allow a guy that gets emotional when he plays. It's absurd to act like this is a big deal to anyone. Geez, he's been playing for 40 years and we're still talking about the same shit. Earl can get obnoxious at times. That is not a reason to ban the guy from earning a living. geez, lighten up, to much hate to take to the grave, no ?
LeBron is paid millions to shut up and turn a blind eye to the atrocities in China. Why, that's where his shoes are made and China is a big time market for the NBA. So, who cares about the Millions murdered, or the kids working in factories, or the woman sold as slaves, we have bigger problems....... Earl is Baaaaaaack. lol
In order for pool to become popular, you have to attract the interest of people who don’t currently have any interest in pool. The current crop of people who are interested in pool are not enough to support what pool needs to grow.
Young kids today are interested in the “people aspect” of things and they are drawn toward reality TV. They are not going to sit still and watch 24 monks, in tuxedos, sitting quiet as a church mice waiting for their turn at the table for a three day tournament.
I think the bonus ball idea could have made a better run for its money if it would have been 8-ball and they made the teams a mixture of pros and celebrities to get the show off the ground and running. They could have modified it as it progressed.
I have always said that an event with a team of Manny Pacquiao and Efren Reyes vs Earl Strickland and Joe Rogan would draw a ton of streamers and could even interest somebody into televising it.
If anyone ever steals that idea, I want a free plane ticket, hotel room, and front row seat to the event.
