So COVID is the reason you didn't see the 626 run? Just when I thought we've ran out of things to blame on COVID.
Just to clarify... I'm not saying I don't think it's real. I 100 percent believe he ran the 626 and broke the record, no bullshit. I think the recording/streaming/footage handling/whatever was handled super poorly. Pandemic or not, the delay John had (and still has) with releasing the footage of it pretty much killed the hype. This is a record that maybe 25 out of 100 pool players actually care about (I think I'm being generous on that) and of those 25, maybe 10 would actually watch the video.... Then of those 10, maybe 3 would be able to stay awake for it.
You can put me in the group of the 7 that would make the attempt at watching it but probably not be able to stay awake. #workingman #dadlife.
It's definitely a feat, no question and it's cool that he is trying to do it again... but I can't justify throwing money at something that I'm probably not going to be able to watch much of, especially when it's live... and probably never see again if the record is broken... or have to pay again if it is ever released.
Now the correct business model here for a GoFundMe would have been some type of incentive system. Like every 100 dollar donation gets a copy of the 626 run on (insert your favorite media preference here). That I would contribute to.
