he said last year MC would mean a pay cut for him. this year it's 20k guaranteed per player, if he's not interested then he obviously makes a very good living gambling 1pkt with poker players
One is a world champion and one of the most decorated players in history. The other is an aging shortstop who acts like a child.
His name has no business in any conversation with Earl and I'm definitely not an Earl fan.

Either way John would make a great asset to team USA. The skill is there, he may be petty about some stuff, he may need a entire box of chalk but he will be a asset.

When using the Fargo scores, do they state when the last time the person played in a competition? Some of those names, I have not seen them compete in pool for a long, long time. Just curious how it works.

Yes. An example is Charlie Williams (no games in a decade) or Dennis Hatch (no games in 4 years). Their ratings are still 778 and 762. You can look them up. But you won't find them on any "top player" lists. Those lists have a modest "currently active" requirement of 150 games in last two years.
Yes, teams should be required to have one under 21 player.I would like to see an "up-and-comer" as well, like a Kashton Keeton, Joey Tate, Laz Martinez, etc.. Since we are in a rebuilding phase anyways, we might as well get some youngsters in the mix for longevity's sake. Just my $.02
that's not a bad idea. we will throw in moritz neuhausen and i like his chances against the above mentioned, but it's still a good idea

How about they just aren't financially feasible for guys to chase lol there's a system but it's expensive to travel around the country chasing MC point's.
In the past, I felt that players who don't play in Matchroom events aren't given serious consideration for inclusion on the Mosconi team. Last year's Earl pick proved to me that I was wrong. Earl had played in just one of the Matchroom majors in the two years leading up to the 2022 Mosconi.
Pinegar is a fine player and as worthy as many who have been selected, but the biggest problem he has is that he's one of the slowest players on the planet. Add to this that he has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way over the years and it leads me to believe that Pinegar won't get serious consideration. Another point worth considering in that he couldn't be expected to play nine ball up to his Fargo, because his Fargo reflects stellar results in other disciplines (such as his silver at the Derby City 1-pocket this year).

As much as we make fun of Pinegar for slow play, he is a great player. He plays slow because he's allowed too. No shotclock, he's going to take his time to get that cash

That said, however, we all think of BCA Hall of Famer Ralf Souquet as a glacially slow player, and yet he plays great pool even when the shot clock is on.
That’s still true today with a better tour. However, if we compare today to 15 years ago when Pinnegar was traveling regularly, the situation is better now.
He’s also a lot older now and might not want the hotel and car life, even if money was not a consideration.
