Gray is Easy on the Eyes

It was time to recover my table again, so after seeing some of the last Mosconi cup, I really liked the gray cloth, so I went with the Championship 30/30 again, this time in Steel Gray #72. I have played on all colors of cloth, Blue, Green, Red and Gold and I find the gray gives me the most comfortable backdrop for the balls. My eyes don't seem to work as hard for some reason, they feel more relaxed, as it is such a neutral color, there is no color clash with any of the balls.

Thanks to Mark Estes of Shay's Billiards and Vilmos Foldes here in Vegas for a fantastic job, table is perfect!

Time to go practice.

Yes it is, so is green, many shades of blue and light yellow, basically any gentle mellow color will work well on a pool table.

Wow, Vilmos Foldes ?
As in the professional pool player who used to play in the world 9 ball championship?

I do wonder why snooker never change the color of the cloth or their balls. One of pocket billiards seven wonders, I guess.

I don't understand how it's legal to have some of these colors like Red and gold. I played in a pool hall with red cloth and made me use red chalk. I walked out and never played.

I played in a tournament once with red tables and chalk. Worst ever color to play on-

Yeah i lost to him on last 16 in Darrens 8-ball tourney in New york back in days. I am not sure if he missed a ball or not but he ran out almost every rack.
Rules were take what u make more. Tight pockets too and no break from middle. I talked to him and he was nice guy. I believe he is from Hungary originally?

Correct-

I would be very concerned about damaging that piano or mirror on a bad break.
Oh yeah the gray is always a good choice.

yes, he is. also a former junior world 9b champion. very solid player

Grey .. especially on a black table is just about perfect to look it and play on. Let us know how you like the cloth.
