US Open 9-Ball, 2023, Atlantic City, Sep 25-30

Question about tickets: Are only the finals tomorrow, or semi finals as well?

My ticketmaster just says "US Open 10 AM," if semifinal is tomorrow does my ticket get me into that, or just to the final match? cheers

Technically the name of the country is "Bosnia and Herzegovina". Herzegovina? Next somebody is going to say that Moldova is a real country and not a joke in a Marx Brothers movie.

Bob <-- who has held stamps from Bosnia and Hercegovina (old spelling) in his hand

yea i know but we don't bother with the herzegovina stuff over here, that's where we draw the line. moldova is said to have good wine

Brutal for Skylar. That miss on the 5 was the end.

I'm picking Ko Pinng Chung from here....he just beat Filler 10 to 5.

Well just like that all the Americans are gone.

Hope Fedor wins his first major.

JJ is going to have work todo to field a team to be able to beat Europe.

Matchoom does not put a flag symbol next to Fedor's name on their website.....maybe there's a chance....otherwise we are toast.

Filler should get vendor booth at US Open- he will sell out. The guy was selling out in so many safeties vs lil Ko. :ROFLMAO:

he's doing great. of course i've heard him commentate one pocket so not surprised

i think MR hired the general sports announcer guy for the entire week but realized he wasn't the man for the job lol
Thank God, they got rid of that Steve Axx , I mean Steve S.
Michael McMullen is a superstar compared to him

As far as timekeepers at every table....

I think the first year in Atlantic City there was a minor official at each table to scored and ran the clock. They may have also racked. In addition there were area referees. There was a very large problem with the scorers-timers not showing up in Atlantic City. You need about twice as many staff as tables, or people get overworked. At least the scheduling doesn't run matches for 16 hours a day like at some tournaments.

Modern chess clocks have features that solve most of the objections I've seen above. We used them in two leagues around here. I have heard they are used in carom leagues in Europe. They let you spend five minutes on a single shot if you really want to but then you have to be quicker on most shots.
Bob, I've wondered about chess clocks. Where you've used them, are there instances of Player1 getting short-on-time, and Player2 playing safeties when they don't have to, or otherwise adding more time pressure to the Player1?
