Fedor Departs CueTec...?

Yes. It was posted on Cuetec's FB page. Who's he gonna go with now? Predator? Mezz? Why the split i wonder.
Cuetec said that it has been some time back when Fedor expressed his wish to end their cooperation, for the time being Cuetec doesnt know whats next for Fedor ;) I believe that Fedor got an offer too good to decline - my guess would be Predator or Peri (leaning toward the latter)

Joining the Mezz company might be his best choice, IMO. They have been around much longer than most and they produce top quality equipment. Honestly, he can’t go wrong with Predator too. Both sponsor a lot of players worldwide.

Good luck to him in his future, he is a wonderful young man and will represent either company well!

For someone of his stature i'd think Predator would be odds-on favorite. They have the sponsorship budget for sure. Didn't he use them before?

As a Mezz user i agree. They make great cues.

True, I have been playing with Mezz/Exceed for several years myself, they are really good. But recently I converted back to wood after 7 years with cf shafts (I realized cf shafts were messing with my aim big time+the speed control was off with cf as opposed to wood), I switched completely to Peri. Their P20-K shaft is the best wooden shaft I have ever played with, its price tag is insane but for the good reason :)

Don't know how a CF shaft could mess-up you're aim but i've heard good things about Peri. I have a Gen1 Mezz Hybrid Pro and its fantastic. 12.8mm with a CF rod inside the shaft. Super shaft imo.

As far as cf shaft vs aiming goes for me it is the fact that I use the edges of shaft to aim against object ball on majority of shots and with cf shaft I dont get as much visual info as I get with wooden shaft by a country mile. As for Mezz shafts I tested them all and yes, they are great. But for me P20-K beats them easily. Peri is the only big cue maker I know of that actually has 4 levels of quality for the same shaft specs - P20, P20-S, P20-R and P20-K. P20 goes for 100eur, P20-S for 190eur, P20-R for 370usd and P20-K for 670eur. I had a chance to play with P20-R and P20-K and I would characterize them this way - P20-R is quite similar with both power and deflection to ExPro shaft but with slightly better feedback while P20-K has a power similar to cf shafts, deflection so low I dont have to deal with it at all unless I play some extreme powershot shot with sidespin and the feedback is similar to a solid and quite stiff maple shaft. I didnt know such combo was possible yet here it is. I was told that only 3-4 out of 10.000 shaft blanks actually qualify for K category (and for "K"-level treatment) therefore the brutal price tag. Honestly? I dont care as long as the cue plays THIS way :D With other cuemakers (even with Mezz) it is often about a good luck to get the better shaft (I had three WX900 shafts in the past, every one of them played differently), with Peri you get what you pay for :)

700bux for a wood shaft is awfully high. Don't care how they cure/turn the wood.

Pretty classy post from Cuetec - no hard feelings and all well wishes. From their FB:

"It’s a bitter sweet day for Team Cuetec. Today we sadly say goodbye to Fedor Gorst as he leaves the Cuetec Pro Team to seek new challenges and opportunities, but today we also celebrate and smile, remembering all of the amazing moments and victories that were shared since a young Russian joined Team Cuetec more than five years ago.
On behalf of the entire team at Cuetec we want to thank you for being part of the Cuetec family. You played an important part in showcasing Cuetec’s renewed commitment to engineering the best high-performance cues and shafts in the game. It’s been a pleasure watching you grow into the man you are.
We’ll see you in the box champ!"
