2024 World Pool Championship

Am I reading it right that Ignacio is 67-1? Wish I could bet that if it is!

check with church66. yea, ignacio is hitting them real good now, like it's all coming together for him. but i'm not eager on a first time winner, final day gonna be shaky af, 250k on the line. i like the odds on biado

If I was betting man, wouldn't bet on 1 so there are too many who can win this.
There is little difference in skill levels at the top. Who wins comes down to 2 things- mental game and luck.
Pressure would be biggest ever ( past Matchroom WPC paid $100K this pays $250K so pressure at least 2.5x ?
If I have to pick 5, here is my list - they have the best mental game, tend to perform better in really big pressure matches than others
Filler
KPC
Kaci
KPY
Biado
I would usually add FSR and Albin to the list. But odds of FSR winning consecutively is near impossible. and Albin is still struggling and not back to form.

Last 4 combined prize $450K ($250K+$100K+$50K+$50K) is huge about half the total prize money.
To alleviate the pressure they can get money out of the way- last 4 chop it up, each gets $112.5K . Then they can all focus on winning and be World Champ 😄

No Gorst?

Players give rave reviews about the venue (y)

No Gorst?
No. His record in major events not as good as smaller events or races to 1000 (he has yet to win an 9B/10B open major aside from his World 9 Ball few years ago. World Pool Masters win is big win but is an invitational not open major with 128 players)
Maybe it is the shot clock pressure in major events.
Chris Robinson said in commentary that Gorst is best player in world if there is no shot clock  Don't totally agree with but may be some truth in it

Ok that's credible. I'd still favor Gorst then Filler, the 2 Kos, and sentimentally, Raga and Aranas.

It appears that there will be three tables on matchroom.live for US viewers -- the TV table and two others. Starts on June 3rd at noon Eastern Time. The following days matches seem to start at 6AM Eastern.
Bob - does Matchroom Live archive the matches to allow later viewing or is it just live and not able to scrub backwards? TIA

yea, agree roughly with those 5. plus (if) dry conditions it will favor guys like filler, svb, kpc, shaw, slightly over good safety players/grinders like albin. tables won't be as tight as last event anyway, it will be like hanoi but probably drier (rassons 4 - 4.5).

Well, the viewing info from Matchroom now says that DAZN is the only path for people in the US. We will see.

Matchroom.live does not even let you go back to the start of the match once it is in progress. Sometimes I can go back 15 or 30 seconds but it is very flakey.

In the past DAZN has stored matches for seven days but I think that doesn't always happen.

If you play your top 5 and somebody else wins of course no soup SO, any mathemagics to hedge your bets?

All the Dutch players have strong opponents:
Biado
Bongers
He

Feijen vs Lombardo is the relatively easy one

Just to make it easier to see, here's the list of where to watch. Interesting there is a comma after "USA." Was Canada supposed to be there? Do Canadian Matchrom.live subscribed members get to watch on Matchroom.live?

I’m gonna guess either Filler or Kaci wins with Ignacio being my long shot. Excited for this event though.
