Fedor vs SVB score

If it was fair, you will have two sounds close together -- tip on ball and ball on ball.
The only sound I heard was coughing. ...
The sound is out of sync. The sound is a little before the shot.

I think you can't tell from the sound.

I think the cue ball could have gone that far on a legal hit. The one ball went ten diamonds or so.

Alternatively, the cue tip might have just barely hit the cue ball on the extreme edge, increasing its speed to the side by a little without adding much forward motion.

I think this shot would have been hard for a referee to call even if they had been standing close to the shot.

One other variable is SVB's hearing. Now maybe that means he would have a better "feel" for these types of foul/no foul calls but maybe he doesn't hear the double hits like most players and makes these closer hits more difficult for him to call. Not sure about this one.
That is a good point. I keep forgetting about his hearing disability. It's very possible he did not know, although the "feel" is often there for all experienced players.

I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. So while I think it was a foul, there's a decent chance he was unaware.

Since Fedor won that rack, isn't it a moot point?
From a results perspective. Those of us trying to judge Shane's character, though, still might care. More seriously, people interested in hosting, competing in, or attending a matchup like this could also like to know how to avoid such controversies since they might not always become moot, and can take away from what should be the focus--the fantastic play.

SVB is the best rotation player on earth for the last 15 years and for 10 more. He will win another US open and another world championship.
.
But he will always dog a couple straight in shots in mosconi. It's the circle of life.
And it’s usually the 6 ball! I hold my breath every time he’s shooting the 6.😂😂

It's fairly well-known what type of person Shane is.

Most people just choose to look the other way because he's the USA's best player.

Now I'm having second thoughts. The CB speed/travel distance looks right, except Shane was playing for it behind the 7. That's a pretty big mis-judgment if it was a good hit.

On the other hand, I still can't see how the CB took that path if it was a double hit. The CB would have had to have been going sideways a complete ball diameter, and THEN the double hit occur. So that the second hit would have hit the CB on its far edge, and not changed its sideways path direction, but instead, only add some speed to it.
The only way is if it double hit both the tip and the OB...

There is no way you can look at that clip and be positive about what happened. No one mentions that Gorst has a lot of skin in this. When he saw Shane`s indecision, when he saw how close the cue ball was going to be to the object ball, he should have gotten someone to watch the shot. This is something every league player in the country knows.

Chemical's aren't always in play, I can play through the night and even at 60 I can play for 30+ hours. Some of us are just physiologically geared to go without sleep without chemical support. When I was in my 30/40s I could easily go 48+ hours. I have never done an illegal drug or taken a stimulant beyond caffeine in my life.
A single 30+ hour stint within 72 hours, sure, I'll buy it, I've done that myself. Can't say I performed good at all, but I've done it, when I was 19 - 22 years old. But what I see in these marathon money sessions appears to be far more than that, including obvious swings in performance that just don't make sense. What does make sense to me is how drugs like adderall significantly improve performance for a period of time, because I've seen it.

I'm not saying anything about anyone in this particular match. God forbid anyone ever speak about this elephant in the room. But as far as I'm concerned, if it walks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck.
