14.1 101 balls.
9 ball 5 racks
one pocket 11 balls
8 ball 3 racks.
Back in my prime playing days (the 1980's) we played mainly 75 point 14.1 games in the room I hung out in,had a lot of 40 and 50 ball runs, not every game but here and there.

By game.

My high run is:
-5 racks of 9 ball and
-3 racks of 8 ball.

NOT PLAYING THE GHOST.

I've done 3-4 racks of 9 ball countless times. And ran sets to the hill out if you count snookering the opponent and then continuing the run. But let's just stick to straight break and runs. And PLEASE GIVE US THE ACTUAL NUMBER. Unfortunately I realize I'm giving my actual high run and most will add 50% lol.
whoops... sry

err....

7.5 racks of 9b
4.5 racks of 8b

I had one speed for dates and friends
My "personal justified " stall with weaker players was shooting with the second hand. It wasn't long before my offer to play left handed got the scoff and chucklin No from my Asian friends. 🤷‍♂️
My first off handed match up with a player, ended with me down 35 playing for 5 at closing. I knew I liked the game so sought to resume the next evening. Shawn who could spot me a ball playing right handed got a little condescending and said, "if we are going to play left handed it has to be for 10." My instant reply was, "if we Gotta play for 10, we Gotta play for 20." He went bust at 240ish. Whatever he won at the track that day. 🤷‍♂️

I was in a hurry one afternoon in Atlanta Georgia. Had about an hour to kill before going to the airport. I was giving big spots to barroom bangers and without thinking rattled that off to my companion. Then I realized that he was near the top of the food chain in barrooms himself and I had let my mouth overload my rear! Too late!

Ragged old hall, nine foot tables with buckets. The hall felt like home, I played in a few like that. I was going to need all the help I could get. I had just given him the spot of nothing straight playing eight ball. I could kick, bank, shoot combinations, caroms, anything but straight in shots. A quick thought, I was a long ways from home and could let the ponies run. I was going to need to.

We just grabbed a table by the counter and I went to work. I was getting out on the break, sometimes two or three innings when I had to massage the eight ball into a makable spot. I know I broke and ran at least three games in a row several times in one hour, maybe more. The counterman had came to watch, the other tables emptied too. They wanted to get on the phone and find me some action but I had the bird to catch.

They were asking questions as I shot as this was obviously a friendly match. What was my name? Where was I from? When was I coming back? I told them my name was Hu and I was a pool shooting country boy from South Louisiana. Wanted to protect my turf so I told them everyone shot like this where I came from!

Is this a liars club?

You would be amazed how many aren't lying. We had some of the best in the world on AZB at one time. Still have a double handful whose name would be known if they cared to give it. They come to talk pool and enjoy themselves not answer a bunch of questions or dominate conversations.

Then there are the bullshitters. Up to you to figure out which is which. A word from the wise, don't throw out big baits at random or you will find a fish that will gobble it down and come back for seconds!

Laughing at Shawn, not the story. Nothing like somebody overloading their ass and coming to you to get taken! Some of my cousins on the rich side of town learned I could play pool. There was always at least one or two scoffers at the big family get togethers we held about a half dozen times a year. We would have one to two hundred people or more at these events. Unfortunately my ethics didn't let me skin uncles and cousins. They would have bet big in the blind.

Is this a liars club?
I am remembering a Bill Cosby joke.
"Who put the bullet in the furnace?" Was the shop teacher's inquiry. At silence he added, "you know it reflects on your Mother to put a bullet in the furnace. " The instant reply was, " I didn't do it and you quit taking about my Momma ".
Just don't bring My Momma into it. 😉

I'll put my records/claims up from World Cue games publications.

Every pool hall is a liars club isn't it? Half of these answers have an extra 25-35% tacked on to spruce up the story.
I always crack up when reading these threads. I've played with plenty of people from these forums and if they ever played half as good as they claim to I'd be impressed. Of course there are plenty of honest ones, but threads like this turn into a joke real quick.

If you are here looking for the truth , prepare to be disappointed.

The guys at the pool hall have all allegedly run 10 racks several times supposedly but yet I have a winning record against almost all of them besides the couple top guys. And I definitely haven't run 10 racks consecutively lol. In fact, in 20 years of playing, I've never seen a 10 pack that wasn't on tv. Like Johnny Archors famed 11 pack on video.
.
Many pool hall stories are "based on a true story"
