How come there’s a shortage of Pidges posting…you used to be more active years ago….snooker and straight pool player, as I recall.

It is kind of funny that you say that, because if you walk into any Hood, with a bar with pool tables, then they are always playing on them. Not serious players, but they sure do love to play the game. And, lol, seems every time I walk past a black guy on the street, and they see me carrying my pool cue, they are like, you play pool? Where do you play? Never get that with any other strangers I pass by on the street, lol.
There were thousands of pro baseball players that were black.
For the same reason that pool players don't give $10 a piece to sponsor the pro sport.

Clearly it's to do with pool being such an exclusive game just for the elite.

Your ignorance, and America’s ignorance and Bigotry is incredible. Race is a Social, Cultural, and Psychological, construct, it has nothing to do with Intellect, Learning ability, or talent. It predicts ability to absorb the Rays of the Sun, and the resistance to catching Sickle Cell Amenia, more than anything else. Did you look at Ohtani, and say that an Oriental Baseball Player could never be a great Baseball Player, and especially succeed at Pitching and Batting, and be dominant at both? What the Hell would his Race have to do with it? Did you say that, if Oriental players were good enough, they would have been in America, and be already showing the world that they could do it?? When the 4 minute mile mark was reached, many others would accomplish it, shortly after it was proven that it could be done! You cannot look at ANYONE, and say what they are not capable of doing! Are you, and America really that stupid? The problem with the Sport of Billiards, among many others, is Idiots like you, that think that you are automatically superior to anyone else, and that you can observe them and put limitations on them and their ambitions, and determine their ceilings, and what you believe they are capable of achieving! That is exactly what I was trying to explain earlier, and the results we see from the rest of the world, being more accepting and intelligent than America, and the rest of the world is kicking our Asses in the games that America was supposedly Superior in, and invented! The results are Clear, 300 million people are not putting us at the top, and there is no automatic superiority. We are getting our Asses handed to us, and we are too ignorant and prejudiced to see that we need to have equal opportunities for everyone.

What held Cisero Murphy back, after winning a Straight Pool tournament at 16 years old, and winning the New York Straight Pool Championship six straight times, Genius? Did he hold himself back, or did the system hold him back?? Did the White players protest on Cisero Murphy’s behalf, you Racist? Did Cisero get the opportunity to compete with “All” before 1966?? What the Hell are you talking about??
The ONLY sports they have are ALL the major and most lucrative sports! That's sort of a funny thing to point out. By focusing so singularly on race you're missing the bigger picture. Sports in the U.S. are largly being divided by class, not race. Does this disproportionately affect Blacks because of disparities in wealth? Sure, but it also affects a lot of people of all stripes. To seriously compete anymore at any sport, children need to do year round training and travel sports. This isn't possible for many families. Growing up, I saw a lot of dudes that "looked like me" on TV playing golf, but those similarities didn't magically give me the means to play the game.
As far as profesional pool is concerned -- I'm not concerned. I don't care about the state of professional pool anymore as I'm perfectly content rooting for foreign players. Would it be nice to see a new crop of U.S. based players rise up? Sure but at this point, I care more about the state of amateur pool and that's very healthy.
This thread is destined for NPR so i might as well finish...working class White people are growing tired of this narrative. If you really want to rack and stack privilege in this country, it's a fun game to play. When you play the game, you realize that the children of professional athletes are among the most privileged people in our society and shockingly, they aren't all white kids. Which is fine by me. Meanwhile, the people I play pool with are largely working class stiffs who have more money in their pockets than in their 401k's. The point is -- pool is largely a working class pastime and very few people care about the color of your skin when it comes to playing pool. They just care about the color of your money and if you can put the balls into the pockets or not.
You probably need to learn how to spell, while you’re passing racist ass comments around. Weather is referring to the temperatures and forecast, whether is the word that you were TRYING to use in your sentence! You want to conveniently ignore racism, but you don’t know the difference between weather and whether! The big deal is, you want the game to grow, at least you said that you did, but you don’t want to admit that the game is White as a sheet of paper, and always has been, but now, everywhere else in the world is Kicking our Asses! Including EVERYB, might help us catch Poland!
You may have been seeing players like you play Golf, but what you don’t seem to understand is, you had a CHOICE as to whether you wanted to pursue Golf! Are you too ignorant or blind to see the difference? You can’t be serious! Wilt Chamberlain, Reggie Jackson, and Bill Russell, couldn’t go into the same Restaurants and Hotels as their White counterparts! Tell us that you are not stupid enough to say that color doesn’t and didn’t make a Big difference! The Superstars in the Sport were treated differently than any other common White person, and you actually made that ridiculous statement! Putting the balls in the pocket was never the whole story. Even though the Balls don’t discriminate, the Game and Country does!
